I was actually just looking at Kase Ann Lee and an UP case. It said that the UP (NamUs UP # 9929) was a person that Ridgway led police to. There are a few names that have been ruled out but Kase wasn't on there. On the Charley Project, it stated she may have been a victim of Ridgway so does that mean they'd automatically run her DNA against the remains of the UP that he led them to? I hope that makes sense. I want to help and need to make sure I understand the process. I've poured over threads and articles for the last three days and might be a little overwhelmed.

Unlike CODIS, NamUs doesn't automatically compare identifiers; this is done manually. It is possible that she may have been previously ruled out but sometimes oversights happen. If you feel strongly about it you should submit Kase Lee even if just to add her to the rule out list. The UID in question is commonly known as Jane Doe B-17 (https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/9929).

I'm sorry to ask, I have looked everywhere and just want to verify my understanding of the process. NamUs says to contact the case manager with questions about the case. Didn't know if identification possibilities meant the same. It looks like you're using the Doe Network so I will have to go there as well. And I'm sorry to get off topic.

I will help look for matches for thisUP. I had no idea they thought Ridgway could have started in the 70's! That's so scary! Wow.. If he did then I can't imagine how many more women he potentially killed. So sad.

(Original quote by Kjowl16 respectfully shortened by me.) To submit a potential match via NamUs, you send an email to the regional administrator on the UID side. (Can be found under 'Contacts'.) Copy and paste the links to both the UID and missing person's NamUs pages within the message. Something that helps is if you elaborate on why you think the two are a match. Only one possible match can be included at a time. If they are compared and the potential candidate is ruled out, they'll be added to the exclusion list.
 
This Jane Doe has been unidentified for 34 years today.

Sorry it took me so long - I work two jobs so not much time to peruse the internet not to mention the holiday period!
 
I have just heard back from the Doe Network and they have confirmed Kerry Lynelle Johnson is not a match. She has been added to the rule out list on the Doe's profile.
 
It is really possible that this is a Ridgway victim. He confessed 49 victims por the plea agreement but then he said that he killed over 70.
