[h=1]What to do if a stranger knocks on your door: DRPS[/h]
May 3, 2018
Durham police Constable George Tudos says every situation is different, but they don’t recommend opening your door to a stranger.

“You can always speak to someone through the door being locked,” said Tudos.

Tudos says it’s not a good idea to pretend you’re not home.

“A lot of suspects that are breaking into homes that’s what they’re looking for,” explained Tudos. “They’re looking for homes where nobody is home.”

Wow, this is terrible. Never answer the door if you don't know who's on the other side. I don't care where you live. Cameras are a great tool to utilize for this situation.

Fortunately I watch enough ID and follow enough cases that I never open the door for strangers.
