Case History:
Body of deceased female infant, 1 to 3 days old,discovered in a plastic bag in small grove of trees along the South side of SR 120, approximately 18 feet from the edge of the roadway. The body was discovered near newspapers which had evidence consistent with the body being wrapped inside.

Unfortunately, this poor babe was probably never even known about, except to the mother. I think DNA is going to be the only way to ID this little one.

Unidentified White Female Infant from Cameron County, PA

On May 12, 1968, the body of a deceased female infant, approximately one to three days old, was discovered along the south side of state route 120, a remote road through the forests of Cameron County, PA. The body was found around 18 feet from the roadway in a small grove of trees. The infant's body was inside a plastic bag. There were newspapers nearby which contained evidence consistent with the body being in contact with them.

According to the coroner’s report, the infant suffocated inside the plastic bag.

The DNA status of Cameron Baby Doe is unknown at this time.

She deserves to have a name. This child could be from anywhere, but if you recall someone from nearby Cameron, Clinton, Elk, McKean, or Potter County from 1968 who could be the mother, or if you have any other information, please contact the Pennsylvania State Police Emporium Barracks at 814-486-3321
