Snyder (4) (Sept. 23, 2019, Albany Township; found hanging from basement rafters) - *Lisa Rachelle Snyder (36/now 37) “mom” arrested (12/2/19), charged (12/9/19) & arraigned (3/12/20) with 2 counts each of 1st degree murder, 2 counts of 3rd degree murder, 1 count of tampering with or fabricating evidence, 2 counts of endangering the welfare of children, 1 counts of animal cruelty & 2 counts of sexual intercourse with an animal (with a dog). Plead not guilty. Held without bond. DA will seek DP.

3/23/20 Update: Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. Snyder plead not guilty on 2 counts each for 1st & 3rd degree murder as well as 2 felony charges of endangering the welfare of children. She is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on 6/29/20.
6/29/20 Update: Defense attorney Dennis Charles told a Berks County judge Monday that Snyder cannot afford her defense & filed a motion seeking funding for expert witnesses she will need at trial. Her only asset, Charles said, was a 2017 Ford Fusion that she acquired by trading in a jeep her grandfather gave her. Snyder’s parents want to sell the car to reimburse their retirement fund, which they used to get their daughter a lawyer. Prosecutors say proceeds from any sale of the vehicle, which they say is worth about $23K should be spent on her defense before public funds are used. Judge Paul Yatron said he will rule on the defense motion to declare Snyder indigent at a later date. Next status hearing on 11/12/20.
8/10/20: Order re: Defendant's motion to proceed in forma pauperis granted. 8/21/20: Defendant's motion for court appointment of mitigation specialist & PI. 9/1/20 filed on 10/21/20: Application for search warrant-granted. Receipt/inventory of seize property.

Yeah, she felt suicidal after she murdered two children. She was in a good enough mental state to stage a murder-suicide, to go to the store and buy a dog leash for that very purpose, to lie about her own son being bullied at school and feeling depressed, and to hide a phone to this very day.
She was also in a great mental state to send sexual messages to a man and to abuse her own dog for fun. If it wasn't for her older son having the presence of mind to see that his mother's story wasn't adding up, I'm afraid she would've never been caught. She knew what she was doing, she sold Conner and Brinley's stuff when they were still breathing in a hospital bed, waiting for her to say "yeah sure take them off of life support". This case disgusts me and I feel so terribly bad for her surviving son.

"It's very uncommon to see it work," said defense attorney John Waldron, who is not affiliated with the case. "Most jurors or judges think you're faking it, they don't believe you."

But Waldron says it's the right strategy for Snyder's case, and that her defense attorney, Dennis Charles, has successfully used the insanity plea for other clients.

Snyder remains in the Berks County Jail without bail on charges of first- and third-degree murder. She is due back in court on Feb. 12.

Sorry, my post came off weird. I was comparing Lisa to a guy that killed his daughter and then, tried to kill himself twice in jail. The victim's name is Valentina Fonseca, 9 years old. I was trying to say that I think Lisa is a coward. Sorry!

She’s asking to keep the crime scene photos from being shown to the jury? Good luck with that, lady.

The photos are relevant and necessary evidence that will determine your guilt or innocence. If the photos are so heinous that they might prejudice a jury, then you shouldn’t have done such heinous things to your own small children!

No one is going to believe your insanity defense either. Your actions show clear forethought and you knew what you did was wrong because you staged a scene in an attempt to cover it up and then you accused your own child of murdering his sister and killing himself. No, just no.
