GUILTY PA - Four mentally disabled people held captive in Philly dungeon, 2011

More details on the 1981 murder of Bernardo Ramos:

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...lts-Starved-Man-to-Death-in-81-132013283.html

Linda Ann Weston, 51, was convicted of keeping 25-year-old Bernardo Ramos in the closet of her North Philadelphia apartment until he starved to death, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer after looking into articles and reports from the 1981 murder.

According to the reports, Weston locked Ramos in a closet until he died because he refused to pay child support for her sister’s unborn child.

The newspaper articles from 1981 state that Weston and her sister, Venus Weston, beat Ramos with a hammer, tied him up in the closet, fed him only three times over two months, and beat him with broomsticks, reports the Inquirer. They then dumped his body in an abandoned house.

Now, Weston is one of three suspects in the case of four mentally disabled adults found locked in a boiler room in the sub-basement of a Philadelphia apartment building Saturday.

Eight years for beating, torturing, starving, murder - EIGHT years? I don't understand. Then after murdering a man for not paying support (the baby wasn't even born yet), she steals support checks for other people. Criminal minds can always justify anything that benefits them. :cursing: :censored:

Exclusive: Brother Of ‘Basement Of Horror’ Suspect Describes History Of Violence

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The sub basement in Tacony barely gave four mentally challenged captives enough room to move. It was a prison, much like the one Linda Ann Weston kept Bernardo Ramos in 30 years ago. Her younger brother, eleven years old at the time, remembers it well. He says he was a prisoner too.

“We never spoke,” said the brother, who did not want to identify himself. “We were both bound and gagged.”

Woman in basement case investigated in Pa., Fla.

Police also Tuesday found a missing 19-year-old niece of Weston in a different northeast Philadelphia location, and she was found malnourished and with evidence of past and recent abuse on her body, Evers said. She was being evaluated at a trauma hospital, he said.

Fourth arrest made in Philly basement captives case

Jean McIntosh, 32, is charged with offenses including kidnapping, conspiracy, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, simple assault, burglary and trespass, the Philadelphia district attorney's office said in a statement.

McIntosh is the daughter of Linda Ann Weston, 51, one of three people previously arrested, the statement said. McIntosh is "accused as a co-conspirator in the kidnapping and imprisonment of the four individuals."

McIntosh was brought in for questioning Tuesday night and arrested early Wednesday, said Philadelphia police spokesman Officer Christine O'Brien. No bail had been set.

McIntosh was a tenant of the Philadelphia apartment building where the four were discovered, said the building's owner, Turgut Gozleveli, who found the captives, and block captain Danyell Tisdale, who alerted Gozleveli to suspicious activity.

"I'm feeling sick to my stomach," Tisdale told CNN Wednesday. "I was speaking so highly for her. She was a nice neighbor and didn't bother anybody. It's shocking to me that she had anything to do with it. My sister's children played with her two children."

She also did to her brother? And other family knew all about her history but did they bring it up when the niece went missing? Did they even suspect her?

10 kids removed from these monsters, some of them who might possibly have been kidnapped:

http://www.startribune.com/nation/132117493.html

They used to live in Florida. Could Adji Desir be one of these children? It seems that she chose people who could not care for themselves. As I recall, little Adji had developmental disabilities.

This has got me so mad.

This article http://abcnews.go.com/US/girl-basement-dungeon-case-held-10-years-burned/story?id=14768875 says that one of the people found had been kidnapped at age 8 and held for 10 years and was the victim of horrible abuse and was a niece of Weston.

And in this article, a neglect death is linked to Weston. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/132110398.html

It just keeps getting worse and worse. Victimized people with special needs, stolen and tortured kids, and now at least one death from neglect. Not to mention the special needs woman who apparently had children while captive.

I almost feel like we need a big thread for this somewhere because the news is coming out fast and furious.

I would like to see this get it's own folder. This is confusing as heck!

Thank you for the sanity check, Filly. Last night I was definitely ready to get out the torches and pitchforks... but I honestly have no idea whether any state is regularly checking in on the welfare of children/disabled individuals. One of the websleuths must know... is it normal for there to be no home visits or check-ins for disabled folks getting Social Security checks?

Fran, it's a little confusing as there are two sisters with the initial "V". No the 19 year old is not the DD of the one involved with the original starvation murder of Ramos. She is the DD of another sister "V".

How I know this is "V" was on TV and described how her sister drugged her and made her help get Ramos in the closet and such. She was charged as we know, but swore up and down on TV her evil, mean sister made her help, and basically she has amnesia. Can't recall all that.

I'd call liar on that one save for now hearing from other siblings who were frightened out of their wits of her.

Just for the record as they interviewed "V" on TV she was holding a bag of frozen vegetables on her head. Hey, I've done that when I had a headache, but this was on TV. Just sitting on the step speaking to reporters with the veggie bag on her head.

Two brothers speak of incest, drugs, and fear of their sister.

These two brothers identify themselves. They were raised by their sister after their mom passed away. So we know Weston raised up all her siblings.

Warning as link has alot of violence and possible triggers.

The most alarming thing to me is the one brother was only 10 years old when Ramos was hit in the head with the hammer and put in the closet. When he died the 10 year old was told to wheel the body down the block and dump it at the first abandoned house. That wouldn't be too difficult finding an abandoned house. Ten years old.

Oh no problem, Anne. I feel your frustration.

As for the welfare checks on the welfare of the disabled adults I can't say. I do know people who are on SSI have to fill out a form from home stating they're still in the same shape or worse off when they applied for benefits. One of my girlfriends has to do that. She has MS.

Also there's alot of people including young people getting benefits from SSI who are on methadone. My neighbor is 19 years old. He's healthy albeit a recovering heroin addict and gets his methadone, and his check. That's another issue all together.

Oh and from Joe's link.......................Heidnik one scary man. That guy was a monster. His victims also had mental health problems. He used to hang out at a school for mentally challenged adults. In fact I believe hw worked there.

Delimar! One of the most awful stories ever. The woman stole that baby and set the fire. Amazingly her birth mom years later was at a birthday party and just knew the now much older girl was her supposed dead baby.

Yeah we have our fill of scary, evil people here.

Brother: 'Calling Weston evil is speaking nice of her'

"She would force my younger brothers and sisters to have sex; she would have sex with my other brothers and sisters," the brother said.

The brother says his older sister Linda used sex as a way to perpetrate her alleged fraud, cashing in on Social Security and other government benefits.

"She said, 'look, make them have babies, we can get more money.' It could be a brother or sister in her care," the brother said.

Troy Weston, another sibling of Linda's, confirmed much of his brother's account.

Both say their older sister drugged them to prevent them from fleeing her control.

"It would make us kind of groggy, some kind of pills," Troy Weston said.

He says Linda would kidnap his relatives and move them from place to place around the city. She also preyed on the mentally challenged.

Ok, so this woman contacted the post office and social security about the suspicious mail she got for 4, 5, or 6 different names over a 4 or 5 year period for Linda Weston at her former address. No one ever got back to her.

If you continue watching, there will be a news conference by the mayor who answered questions about this situation.
