I'm new to this case. Did Grace's father and brother live in the home too?

So sad and disgusted .. RIP sweet Grace :rose:

Sounds so similar to the Zahra Baker case in 2010. How can anyone dismember another person much less their child?

It's sad, but I don't know. We hardly knew anything about her when she was missing. There was not much media coverage and the press even spelled her name wrong at first. Police called her a runaway and I don't think anyone did any looking into her case too much. And now we find out Grace never ran away. She was murdered and dismembered! And likely by someone who was supposed to protect her and love her! It makes my blood boil that she was ever classified a "runaway" at all. (sorry for the little rant--I hope her case gains some attention now and someone else can answer your question).

I think we're all new to this case. Not much info was given. It said above that the father and brother saw her last in July at a picnic, makes me think they didn't live with her. IMO The presser did say that Sara had a boyfriend.

Officials in 3 counties to discuss missing Pennsylvania teen FlapShip

On Thursday, the district attorney from Montgomery County will be joined by his colleagues from Bucks and Luzerne counties to discuss unspecified "important developments" in the case. The girl's death has been ruled a homicide. Packer's mother, 41-year-old Sara Packer, of Quakertown, faces charges she "withheld critical information and gave misleading statements to police after reporting her daughter missing", officials said. Sara Packer was charged last month with endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction of justice but has not been charged in her daughter's death.

Thanks, has anyone looked to see if the person suspected of murdering her (will NOT call her a Mom) has a court record?

I'm not good at searching court records but I hope someone will find them if she has any previous records. I just found this news article that refers to "court records" but doesn't specify if they are for the recent charges or old records:

Her mother, Sara Packer, reported the teenager missing in Abington Township, Montgomery County. Sara Packer is being held in the Montgomery County prison on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction of justice in relation to her daughter's disappearance, according to WFMZ and court records.

Weintraub described Sara Packer as a person of interest in her daughter's homicide, WFMZ reports. No one has been charged in the girl's death. Court records list Sara Packer, 41, as a resident of Quakertown. She was being held as of Thursday in lieu of $200,000 bail, court records show.

Between Aug. 8 and Sept. 7, a detective working the missing persons case made several attempts to contact Sara Packer, but received no response, authorities said. After receiving no response on Sept. 7, the detective went to the home on Tennis Avenue and found that it was vacant, so she called Sara Packer so she could get her new address, authorities said. That same day, the detective called the Abington School District and learned that Grace Packer and her 12-year-old brother had been withdrawn from school on Aug. 16 and only the brother was enrolled in the Quakertown School District, authorities said.

Police say they requested a recent photo of Grace from her mother so they could investigate. Sara allegedly told police she would drop a photo off at the station, but never did.

Authorities say after numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Sara Packer through August, on September 7th investigators learned that Grace and her younger brother had been withdrawn from Abington School District.

The investigation later revealed that Sara's 12-year-old adopted son had been enrolled in Quakertown School District. However, there was no indication that Grace had been enrolled or that there were plans to enroll her in the district.

Police also learned that Sara Parker had been receiving $712 monthly for care and custody of Grace, and that on August 22nd, Sara completed a Continuing Disability Review Report related to Grace, never disclosing the girl's disappearance.

Records show that between July 1, 2016 and November, 10 2016, while her daughter was reported missing, Sara Packer spent more than $3,600 of disability funding intended for Grace.
