The baby's DNA can produce a familial DNA match. Why hasn't this been done?
I am really not a new member. I just reconnected and forgot my password. I have visited her burial site. She died the year I graduated from HS. We look alike. I have contacted the PA State Police regarding Beth Doe. I have land in White Haven - that is how I first became interested in Beth Doe.

That's wonderful to hear! Thank you :)

I often think about that even though someone almost 42 years ago thought of her as something worthless to kill and destroy, there are so many of us all across the world who still cares and still works tirelessly to bring some form of justice to her and her baby.

Carry on.

We can always hope, right? ;) I was wondering, because if not anyone of you had done it, I might've done it myself (although I think it's terrifying and my anxiety issues doesn't exactly get any better of that reason  )

Breathe, Mrs Badcrumble, (that is such a cool name) - I emailed the lead investigator.

I actually get panic attacks while I'm driving (never good) but contacting LE/ME-Coroners usually doesn't give me stress.

It gets easier the more you do it :)
But there is still that pounding heart when you first pick up the phone to call.

Hahah! Thank the both of you! :D I kinda went lost in the labyrinth of contact information and the various departments, and all of them were telephone numbers (and faxes! I haven't seen one of those since the 90s!), which rules me out a bit, since I am located over the pond and calls over there can be crazy expensive...

This case is a little confusing......on one hand, you have the killer who was obviously worried that she could be identified so he dismembered her, cut off facial features, and removed her breasts...but on the flip side, you have a late term pregnant woman still unrecognized!
Neighbors? The community...friends.
I would be asking around if I knew of a pregnant woman who was about to give birth that suddenly..vanished.

I think she was living in a gated community - Honor killing - In 1976 - before 9/11, there was no scrutiny.

What was happening in Eastern Europe at the time? 1976? Beth's iotops suggested Eastern European origin

I posted a reply yesterday of some immigrants through TN that had similar birth and immigration dates. It was removed, but all the information provided is public record and available to anyone on the internet in the first place. I figured I'd just put that out there. I didn't realize we were not allowed to share public documents.

Artistic renderings of the victim by NCMEC, Carl Koppelman and Frank Bender. Suitcases and blanket the victim's remains were placed in.* Facial features such as the nose and the hair style are an artist's estimation to complete the image.
*WS won't let me post more than five pics at the time, but there are more photos in the link.

Circumstances of Discovery
On December 20, 1976, the dismembered remains of the victim were found in three suitcases along the Lehigh River (Carbon/Luzerne County Line) under a bridge of westbound Interstate Route 80 near Exit 273. The suitcases appeared to have been thrown from the Interstate bridge.

She had been strangled, then shot in the neck and then dismembered with a fine, serrated tool. Her killer had removed her nose, ears, and breasts.

There were letters and numbers written on her left hand in ink (color of ink unknown). While there were different interpretations of what was actually written on the hand, almost definitely was "WSR". Next to that was either a 4 or a 5. Below and to the right was either a 4 or 7. Police checked license plates and CB call signs but were unable to determine the significance of the notations. The ink would probably have lasted 8-12 hours.

The three suitcases the remains were found in were all the same size (23" x 14" x 7 1/2"). Two of them were blue in color, one was blue and tan plaid. The handles had been cut off of the suitcases before they were dropped at the site and the zippers had been painted with flat black paint.

Inside the suitcases, the police also found straw, dry packing foam, a cut up chenille bedspread and six sections of the New York Sunday News dated September 26, 1976. The bedspread was most likely originally pink in color, however, the worn and dirty condition made it appear more rust or coral colored. The bedspread had an embroidered yellow flower design.

Advanced forensic testing of her bones suggest that the female was possibly born in Western to Central Europe and likely migrated to the USA five to ten years prior to her death in her early childhood to teenage years.

She is known as Beth Doe.

Beth Doe's still on DDP's suggestion list and her agency is aware of this option.

GEDmatch is an open data personal genomics database, which in theory means that it is open to use for LE in general. DDP is just one option, but there are several others (and more to come) genealogists and agencies using genealogy and GEDmatch as a crime solving tool rn. We'll just have to be patient and wait for LE to reach out to them.
