I am here with you Tulessa. I believe today will be the day the verdict comes in. Lord knows this has to end and the Alexanders have to try to get some normalcy back in their lives. Prayers of strength for them and acceptance of the verdict whatever it may be.

Is anyone else looking forward to hearing from the jurors and Juan after the sentence is handed down? I know I am.

Anyone else think they had a verdict when they left yesterday....and, did the same "sleep on it" thing and will announce shortly after they arrive?

I really hope the media give the Alexander family as much attention after this verdict as they have given the convicted murderess.

"Society is justly ordered when each person receives what is due to him. Crime disturbs this just order, for the criminal takes from people their lives, peace, liberties, and worldly goods in order to give himself undeserved benefits. Deserved punishment protects society morally by restoring this just order, making the wrongdoer pay a price equivalent to the harm he has done. This is retribution, not to be confused with revenge, which is guided by a different motive. In retribution the spur is the virtue of indignation, which answers injury with injury for public good... Retribution is the primary purpose of just punishment as such... [R]ehabilitation, protection, and deterrence have a lesser status in punishment than retribution."

I am sending light and strength to the Alexander family to NEVER GIVE UP! Do not settle. Far better you be absent from the courtroom when another jury takes up the evidence of the butcher's handiwork.

The average person, weighing this heartless preening shell of a human being against the life lost of Travis Alexander, someone who unselfishly helped people (AND incidentally was the only one who believed in HER for a long time)... no contest.

And the average person, weighing the cruelty administered balanced against the kindness given...

Or the average person, weighing the scope and depth of the lack of support as represented by caring, crying parents and family struggling to control a headstrong, mean-spirited teenager and then an uncaring, distant adult,

Well, I trust the average person as represented in the peanut gallery, the howling mob, the moral majority, is instinctively repulsed by a person who applies the death penalty to a person who called her names, and then has the gall to fail to apologize because no one believes her anyway, and then offers her self as the victim instead of the perpetrator.

She is hard to get out of the spotlight and as hard to kill as a cockroach. And just as human.

    Present and accounted for! :seeya:

This jury decided JA was guilty of murder in the first degree, with extreme cruelty. Disregard the THs (except for Beth K, of course :)) and give the jurors the benefit of the doubt, for now. That's what I choose to do. And the verdict? It is what it is.

    Serenity now
