He might have thought only a signature was required. He was probably surprised that they requested a fingerprint as well after he signed. Foiled again. LOL.

Your probably right, that made me laugh thanks!

It was discussed earlier and the wonderful sleuthers here figured out it meant
'mai pen rai' which means something similar to 'no worries' in Thailand.

I too wondered what that tattoo said.......thanks for the translation.

Looks to me he has plenty of 'worries' now.....

If not mistaken JVDS is supposed to appear before a judge this morning or Peru time.

I hope they slam him hard.

A Peruvian newspaper is reporting that "Van der Sloot and Trujillo Ospina play casino in prison". It figures he'd make friends with a hitman!! (JMOO)

The report also states that a judge has been named who "will be planning a series of steps in this process [criminal proceedings], including the date on which Van der Sloot must make a preliminary statement in the maximum security prison Miguel Castro Castro."

Even though he is housed with a "hitman", I can actually see these two becoming friends. Trujillo is not Peruvian, he's a foreigner just like JVS and has been put into solitary for the same reason as JVS, at his request for his own safety. He is much smaller than JVS so he is not a physical threat and he wouldn't have a problem with the fact that JVS had murdered someone...it's his business after all. He also probably could care less that the person JVS murdered was a young Peruvian girl. Allowing these two to "hang out" together is not a good thing IMO. They both probably have access to outside funds so there's no incentive there for Trujillo to harm JVS either...but he can sure teach him a thing or two about how to survive in that prison I would imagine. Do we know how long Trujillo has been in there and what his sentence is?

Hi Patty G,

There was a video posted re psychopaths and the differences in 6 or 7 parts. It was very interesting and I was wondering if you posted it. I lost the thread and wanted to ask if you did, could you let me know where you found it. Thanks so much.

Thanks for all these videos also.

That was me... here you go:

I read that GHB (a "popular" date rape drug) leaves the body 12 hours after ingestion, so in all likelihood, there would have been no sign of the drug several days later, when the autopsy was performed.

Hi. I have narcolepsy and take GHB (Xyrem is the RX name). It leaves the body anywhere from 2.5 - 8 hours depending on the dose and prior food consumption and/or what it is mixed with. I'm guessing - If it were to happen, they could trace it in her urine/bladder.

If she had been drinking all night, a dose of GHB could possibly kill her or at least make her very ill (vomiting, seizures).

I don't think this is a good combination

I agree. But, I was also wondering that since Trujillo is a paid assassin, how much would he have to be paid to murder VDS?

MOO

I have been thinking this all along! I believe the next news we hear is that Joran has been killed by his new friend.

I doubt that money would be an incentive for Trujillo to kill JVS. He's probably being well funded in there by his Columbian contacts. Perhaps he could be enticed just by the fact that he might get some "respect" or "honor" from the guards and inmates if he is the one who takes down this "monster"?

I'm guessing any of our :twocents: would get the job done. Just j/k in case the FBI is reading here.

I think a lot has to do with the length of time remaining on Trujillo's prison sentence.

If Trujillo only has a couple of years left, and can see the light at the end of the tunnel for his release, I doubt he'd want to jeopardize his potential freedom.

But, if Trujillo is in there for life, he really has nothing to lose (and possibly something to gain) by killing Van der Sloot.

~Bottom line... never trust a hit man. (That seems like good common sense advice, in my opinion)!

According to this article, Ospino was just extradicted from Argentina on April 27 for a murder he committed in 2006. Reading through the lines of the poor English translation, it doesn't say if he's been sentenced yet, but appeared before a judge on May 21. It also seems that he, too, couldn't find a lawyer to defend him and was assigned a public defender. I'll bet that's what happens to VDS also, IMO.

Trujillo is about the same age as Joran, according to Jean Casarez on InSession this morning.

He's been referred to as "alleged" Colombian hit man, IIRC. That would mean he is probably awaiting trial.

JMHO

Wow...these two have a lot in common then. Both also allegedly killed Peruvian women. I guess they'll both be facing some "problems" if they are both put into the general population after their trials.

Yeah, I can see them becoming fast friends.

Would have been nice for the victims families if Joran could have committed this crime somewhere like Texas. That way he would either be getting the lethal injection in 10 years or serving LWOP after giving up Natallee Holloways remains. The part that would ruin that however would be if Joran claimed he dumped Holloways body in the ocean where it would likely never be found. The Holloways may not get much closure with that knowing how Joran is a constant liar. Unless he could provide physical contact with any remains I would rather see him put to death. Joran seems like the exact coward many murderers are that is petrified of his own death.

I doubt the presence of Trujillo has comforted Joran much. He's still a young man, used to traveling the world and leading an active life. When he was put into his cell and that realization that he has ruined his life hit him in the face you can bet he shed many tears. Prison is such an absolute culture shock that it almost makes me feel sorry for young people like Joran when I think about how awful their life is going to be. I'm a strong victims advocate though, and Joran has devastated two families. Joran could be considered lucky he isnt going to be excuted, and even worse may get out of prison at a somewhat young age.

That doesnt seem like much justice to me.

Joran van der Sloot could be coming to America. AOL news reports that because of the US extortion case, the US can bring him to Alabama Federal court. This depends on Aruba not proceeding forward with the case, as well as several other factors.

The website reports that there is something known as the “passive personality principal of international law which would permit the US to prosecute someone who has allegedly killed a US citizen, regardless of where the crime took place. This also might require Aruba not to go forward with the prosecution of the murder.

An expert told AOL-- "The U.S. has secondary jurisdiction over van der Sloot because of the extortion case.” Van der Sloot allegedly tried to extort money from the Holloway family to reveal the location of the body. He already received $10,000 cash which certainly makes it a felony. Even worse, he lied about the body.

I've wondered why he chose the Netherlands to receive the wire transfer rather than Aruba. Any thoughts on that--anyone?

Heard about 45 minutes ago on HLN, he has a new attorney also.
