Yes, MCK16. If the photo is genuine, IMO, it means he likely broke that knuckle big time--from a massive punch AGAINST SOMETHING HARD PRESUMABLY BONE.

I can tell you from someone who broke his knuckles a few times, they sure swell up. This is why you will see martial artists and boxers with enlarged knuckles. When they heal, they are larger than before and allow for greater punching power subsequently.

E.g. check out the knuckles of Bruce Lee in this pic:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e71/Heavy-DGSX/bruce_lee.jpg

See, e.g. even the pinky knuckle of his left hand.

So I thank you sleuthers, it implies Joran delivered a massive blow with his left hand to hard bone presumably of Stephany's face.

Again does anyone know if he is right or left handed?

Also again we can't know if this is before or after the blow that made her go unconscious? Or if that is the blow in question?

A single massive strike, as previously noted, especially if she were held up against a wall would do it.

Is it possible he is right handed and was holding her with his right when she defended herself and instead of giving into his robbery demands, struck or attempted to strike at this monster, and he then went all out, not with his elbow but with his free hand--the left one?

Finally I should note that I have broken my knuckles numerous times, and they didn't quite look that bad. And this is important again. If she were held against the wall as I previously described, not only would this have prevented her head from moving back through space (and absorbing more of hte blow) and thus it magnified the skull and brain damage--but it would also magnify the damage to his own knuckle from Newton's third law.

It appears more and more that she was held against a hard wall when a massive blow to the face was delivered, and it may have been from his left hand and not the elbow. IMO

I just watched the ABC video that Patty G posted above and it looks like JVS uses his right hand most of the time....reaching in the plastic bag, carrying the empty coffee cups out of the room and then pretending to knock on the door. Wish the ABC logo was not across the bottom, I was trying to catch a place I could stop the video and look to see if his hands looked injured.

Sorry, I just had to bring this post over from the last thread

"JeanC - if it smelled or was filthy today - live camera footage, she would report it.

Very simple - they cleaned it prior to her visit for obvious reasons. Orchestrated." [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/member.php?u=49996"]epiphany[/SIZ"]Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

It is The Sloots cell, why shouldn't he be expected to clean it himself? :waitasec:

"Orchestrated"? I don't agree.

Good post MCK16! We can't, and shouldn't, rule anything out.

And yes the finger does not appear to be broken. But when you break your knuckles via hitting boards, walls or people, you can break just one knuckle. Done it a few times. You can also break more than one. But as I recall more of the time, it was one at a time. A good attorney would have a field day with the differences in those photos.

But I also wrote, that there may be definitive testing. E.g. taking an X-ray of Joran's left hand. I think radiologists and orthopedic surgeons can determine if a break is recent or not, and certainly if one is there.

Did you catch how large Bruce Lee's pinky knuckle was? Most boxers and martial artists will have the pointer and middle finger knuckles enlarged--from repeated breakings. He likely went out of his way to break that pinky knuckle.

I still ask if anyone knows which hand is the dominant one for Joran?

I have tried to figure that out. I thought he might be left handed looking at the videos at the casino, but then he also played with his right hand. Maybe he is ambidextrous. I just remembered that there are pics of him signing his confession. Maybe we can find those.

Just a thought ... wouldn't casino video reveal JVS's dominate hand?

There is a video somewhere of him signing papers with his right hand while he was being processed.

This certainly isn't directed at you, Eileen O'B, or anyone else commenting on JVS's ex-girlfriend, but I couldn't care any less about what she has to say about how sweet and wonderful he was/is. She's just looking to cash in and glorifying the criminal and I find it disgusting.

ditto...I am catching up and was going to type the same thing.
I won't be watching her ABC interview-these type of people make me sick, making money off of an alleged killer...what about the victims and their families? How much will they be discussed?

JMO

I am curious as to what is on the right right side, at the bottom in this picture of Joran's things. Does anyone know?

I think I got it Davehed!!

I thought i recognized it right off, and searched for who I thought it was. It's Al Capone!

Scroll down to just under the photo of Castro--that's Fidel not the prison.

Looks like the identical photo to me, yes?

Joran's been reading on Al Capone! (Assuming again that nothing was planted here.)

Sure is being painted as a nut and/or evil, low-life.

We have some inkling on how many people Capone killed.

Couldn't find someone better to read up on?

Don't hold me to it but I believe he signed with his right hand when he was given those documents on video......I bet he is ambidextrous though, IMO

Thank you BuzzieCat!

It implies IMO, that maybe he already had his dominant hand in use, such as in holding Stephany, when she hit or tried to hit him and he went ballistic.

That is amazing that you could identify that picture. I'm impressed.

Thank you-- it looked familiar to me as well but I couldn't place it. It certainly looks identical to me as well. Holy moley, this kid just keeps turning out to be a bigger whack job by the day.

I was thinking the same thing, he may be ambidextrous. I recall at the initial police in take in Peru, seeing him being very expressive with both hands (or trying to be)--like the stereotype of Italian men or such.

Let's ask Anita.

In the video tape where he's in the lobby with Stephany, he takes the room key with his left hand, which seems awkward unless he were left handed or ambidextrous. I'm looking for other examples as I *think* I remember reading somewhere that he was (ambidextrous).

I don't know what it really matters, though. I don't believe he was physically coerced to give his confession and it's obvious to me that he killed her with great force no matter which hand he used.

Well, if the injury was caused AFTER his arrest I guess they wouldn't want it to be real noticeable and of course they wouldn't want to injure his signing hand for the confession. I have no idea whether that's a possibility or not--just making a comment. I guess it's just because so many things seem to be reported one way and then another--it's confusing.

I don't believe he was physically coerced, they had him dead to rights with the videos and evidence in the room.

Thank you. I have, or had, a photographic memory.

I used to be able to say to a friend--remember that French class we took together 7 years ago, the following paragraph was on page 122, or such.

Not as good now, but I can still see a brief view of say a minor actor in a movie that he was also in that I saw years earlier--when he looked different too, due to age, and say that's him.

So I immediately thought that that photo was very familiar and Capone was the perp.

One hell of a "role model."

I know "Unreals" who was posting here last week, would say this is all too much. No one could be that stupid--talking to the drivers and such, giving them evidence, now idolizing some mass murderer/.

But I guess my recognition is a world first. I wonder how long before the media gets it. I've done some national TV myself. Not the brightest bulbs in the MSM.

I was "shocked" to see that Chris Cuomo from ABC while on the "View" (video in Media thread) has the actual diary, so you know there is lots of bucks for this diary. :furious:

Oh yea, there is a lot of loot involved.
From the ABC article:

Granadillo licensed a selection of materials she has kept for years to ABC News.

Just like the Anthony's and their home videos and pics of Caylee. :furious:

Just my two cents here--it could be a frustration injury too (in addition to the obvious bone breaking result) -- with his temper fueled by booze (remember he had an alcohol fueled night with a stranger after he left Lima) -- he could have punched a wall?

Good work Bobarino! Just glancing at it I thought it was Truman Capote in the movie, "Murder by Death" (Lionel Twain LOL).
