Has it ever been determined who procured the red rope and when? Many thanks!

Sheriff Gore state they conducted a complete investigation and to this day he can only assume where it came from. Complete my ass, they did not pull Adam's credit card or even his cell phone records. They do not have a clue where the rope came from only a guess.
