4 more women join defamation suit against Bill Cosby

BOSTON (AP) — Four more women joined a federal lawsuit against Bill Cosby Friday, claiming the comedian sexually abused them and later defamed them by letting his representatives publicly label their stories lies.

Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, Louisa Moritz and Angela Leslie join three women already named in the civil suit —Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, and Linda Traitz.

...Cosby has so far been named in six separate civil lawsuits. Separately, prosecutors in Pennsylvania and California could still bring criminal charges against him.

I never liked the Cosby Show which aired through out most of my childhood years. I remember my parents would say I needed to watch the show to learn something.
On an assumption guess could a reason be that the women who are making these accusations did not report the crime, is because of the racial issue between a white woman and a black man. The fact that the women were hanging out with him in such a private form would be used against her because the police were racist?

The women spoke about being harassed by people after coming forward with their experiences. “Last spring I was with my father at his lawyer’s office and I had to go out to the car to get something,” described Tarshis. “A car drove toward me and past me and as they passed me a woman spat out the window at me and yelled, ‘Liar! You’re a liar!’ I was incredibly shaken.”

Cosby got a stay to at least delay the deposition re the Dickinson lawsuit.

"The Court of Appeal required Ms. Dickinson to respond to Mr. Cosby's writ, which requests that he be treated like any other defendant in this circumstance and not subjected to the burden of discovery until Ms. Dickinson demonstrates a reasonable possibility of success on her claims, which Ms. Dickinson has not yet attempted to show," said Monique Pressley, a Cosby legal spokeswoman, in a statement Friday.

Bloom professed to be unconcerned by the development. She tweeted a statement saying she is confident the depositions will go forward once the Court of Appeal has heard all the arguments on the issues.

MADISON — Drew University has revoked the honorary degree it awarded to Bill Cosby in 2002, joining a growing list of schools distancing themselves from the comedian.

The university's board of trustees voted Oct. 23 to take back the degree after Cosby's admission in legal depositions that he engaged in conduct toward women that violates Drew University's values and standards, university spokeswoman Kira Poplowski said Monday.

Donjeta- I just wanted to thank you for your diligent, relentless pursuit of this case. I love you and your posts. Thank you for looking out for these women- and all women who have been raped and marginalized because of it- really- you are a gem!

Nothing like ignoring your entire student governments vote! WTH? Well, aren't they just the most stubborn and ridiculous of institutions. Pfft- they look like idiots, as far as I'm concerned. Have at it George Washington U- can't wait to see how that works out for you come enrollment time.

The student vote was, I think, symbolic of the student body's concern and more like an advisory or non-binding referendum in nature. I thought it was an interesting vote since the institution's reputation is that it's a "rich kids school". Not too surprising then that the board would be very conservative in its approach to the problem and would have no qualms about appearing to ignore the position of the student body as it was represented by the student government.

I guess the student vote was sort of "honorary" like Cosby's degree.

Bill Cosby Protesters Blocked From Entering Comedian’s Concert, Lawsuit Claims

Gloria Allred claims she was prevented from attending Georgia performance, and she wasn’t alone

Scandal-embroiled comedian Bill Cosby could probably use all of the concert attendees that he can get these days, but according to a new lawsuit filed by attorney Gloria Allred, would-be audience members were illegally blocked from attending a Cosby performance in May.

The suit, filed in Federal court in Georgia on Wednesday, claims that Allred — who represents a number of women claiming that Cosby sexually assaulted them — was improperly prevented from entering Cosby’s show at the government-operated Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, which was being protested.
