Adam Harvey is Autistic and still missing In Abbeville County SC. He has no history of running away.

“Rachel said her son has autism and that he was upset about something while at his grandmother’s house. She said his grandmother told him to go outside to her fenced-in yard to cool down, something he’s done before.

But when his grandmother went out to check in on Adam, Rachel said, he was nowhere to be found.

Rachel said Adam doesn’t have a history of running away, which adds to her confusion.

Deputies immediately began searching when they were called, Rachel said.”

Im sure there are the usual retention ponds etc. Edit: It looks like the area being searched is South of Abbeville (city) and Lake Secession is North of Abbeville. There seem to be 2 creeks in the area but not sure how close to Grandmother’s home where Adam was last seen.

It would be very easy to get lost and not be found in this area. Much like the autistic 6 year old who ran off from his parents in NC a couple years ago and wasn’t immediately found.

This area is rural.

I’ve read that dogs and drones are being used in the search. Neighbors are driving in cars and using their ATVs to search.

Adam’s Mom posted tonight in the Abbeville, SC Community FB group that he is still missing.It has been 16 days now. Hoping that a tip will come in soon and Adam will return home safely.

Sad to report that Adam is still missing. Also not sure why a silver alert wasn’t issued due to Adam being autistic.

Adam has been missing over 3 weeks now. His mother has said he had no social media or phone due to his intellectual disability and vulnerabilities. I’m very concerned about this missing young man.

This case reminds me of the Adam Ritch missing persons case, except Adam Harvey was chronically older.
I hate to think AH could have the same outcome.
I wonder if local LE followed the suggested protocol reported in this article.

Adam Harvey has been missing over 3 weeks after leaving his grandmother’s yard. He has no social media or cellphone and has no history of running away before. Please send out good thoughts or a prayer that he will return home soon and safely.

On Saturday, Adam will have been missing for 4 weeks. I read in one report he was last seen walking on Mt Carmel Rd. This would likely be a rural Rd South of Asheville SC. He is has autism and is a vulnerable adult. I hope he found someone's hunting cabin with food and water.

I’m happy to help. This case really speaks to my heart bc my daughter and some of her friends have special needs. I would be inconsolable if my daughter wandered off in a rural area like that. I know that countryside and I’m very concerned that Adam might have gotten lost in the woods.
