Oconee County deputies are asking for help tracking down a missing woman.

Deputies said Laura Ann Anders, 45, has not been seen since January 2.

Deputies said Anders’ husband reported her missing on February 5.


According to the incident report, the husband had last seen her on Jan. 2 when he left for Spartanburg and said he had been unable to find Anders since he returned to Seneca on Jan. 30.

Deputies said they also reached out to Anders’ family and other addresses in the county, but no one had seen Anders.

Anders does not have a cell phone.

Laura's niece, Heather Davenport is especially worried since Laura's son, who has autism. She says nothing about the disappearance adds up.

"Our biggest fear is that she’s gone, and that we'll never know what happened," she said. "Something is sketchy with it because it’s not like her to just up and disappear, and not have any contact."


“This has been a terrifying experience. You honestly think that it could never happen to you until it does.”

Davenport believes somebody knows something, and wants them to speak up and for Laura to come home.

“We haven’t had any answers. We feel like somebody knows something but we just need them to step up and tell somebody," said Davenport. "Laura, please come home. We miss you. Just let us know you’re okay. Please, we just need to know something.”

This does not add up. I don't know any spouse that would leave their wife and child for a month and not make a single phone call to check on them.

Seneca to Spartanburg is only 70 miles, about an hour and 40 minutes depending on traffic on I-85.

Did he not call because Laura doesn’t have a cell phone? Do they have a landline? Surely she would have some type of communication?

And her son was left alone and his dad didn’t think to check on him either?

Laura Ann Anders was last seen on Jan. 2 on Bauknight Road in Mountain Rest, SC. Anders does not have a cellphone and said her family said they have not had contact with Anders in three weeks.

Anders was last seen on Bauknight Road in Mountain Rest, South Carolina on January 2, 2019. Her husband said he went to Spartanburg, South Carolina that day and didn't return until January 30, and when he returned she was gone. She didn't have a cellular phone at the time of her disappearance. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case.

ME has given me no updates at all. I can barely get in touch with them. I do have theories of what happened to her. I believe shes no longer alive and I believe someone killed her over drugs. If she were hiding, which I doubt that she would be, she would have come forward by now to check on her son since my mom passed away. My mom had custody of her son when she died. There have been a lot of mixed rumors from one person who I believe had something to do with it.
