Not much on this yet but I got it on yahoo and foxcarolina.com. This mother and son were found near a dog kennel on their property in Colleton County SC. Their family has a long history of connections to the legal system in the Lowcountry and the son, who was murdered, was currently facing charges in a boating accident causing death.

ADMIN NOTE:

Many posts have been removed or edited. Since then, I’ve spoken with Tricia and we are making some changes on the fly.

Although LE has not officially named Alex Murdaugh as a POI, common sense tells us they would be remiss if they were not strongly considering him. Even MM and AM's own law firm saw fit to investigate him so we are opening up sleuthing of him unless LE officially announces that he is NOT a POI.

We trust Nancy G / Crimeonline for vetting their sources appropriately, so we are temporarily allowing both FITSNews and Mandy Mattney as approved sources in this discussion. As with any source, when we temporarily approve them, their status is subject to our monitoring the type of coverage (i.e. they don’t get too biased or rumor laden, etc), and that decision is subject to change at a later date.

PS: No absolute trashing of AM or direct accusations.

Here is MerryB’s last post in Thread #11, for a podcast that I also thought was very interesting:

MerryB: I thought this episode was really interesting.
The legal analyst is so adept at taking complicated issues and making them easy to understand. The estate planning angle he discusses is very intriguing. I also enjoyed the Hampton Co. historian who explains the history of the Palmetto State Bank.

I think folks were still discussing this … I’m bringing it over (is that called “bumping?”:

<snipped> And what of the phone calls Murdaugh is said to have placed from the Moselle crime scene prior to calling 9-1-1 after ostensibly “discovering” the bodies of his wife and son on that fateful spring evening last June? [BBM] … <snipped>

Timeline: See Alex Murdaugh’s Ties To Alleged Drug Smuggler Who Owned Moselle

Below is a timeline of events — by our researcher Jenn Wood that shows the Boulwares’ relationship with the Murdaughs.

January 1949: Thomas M. Boulware and Randolph “Buster” Murdaugh II worked on the same civil case on behalf of the plaintiffs in Ridgeland Box Mfg. vs Sinclair. Buster Murdaugh was the solicitor at the time.

December 1951: In Beaufort County vs Jasper County, Buster Murdaugh and Thomas M. Boulware worked together for the respondents in the SC Supreme Court case.

August 1977: Barrett Boulware marries Jeannine Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin S. Morris of Allendale

January 1980: Island City Boat Sinking (see article below)

According to The State newspaper:

11 Miami area men were rescued 50 to 60 miles off the coast near St. Helena Sound.
The men claimed to have been rescued by The Waterworld and Miss Kathy boats. The Waterworld was taking on water. The men claimed to have been traveling from Miami to New York.
The Miss Kathy was owned by Joel E. Morris of Beaufort and operated by Edward E. Legree (who was later arrested in another drug bust).
The Waterworld was owned by Barrett Boulware of Allendale and operated by Johnny Morris.
Apparently no one was arrested.

March 23, 2000: Boulware purchases 4157 Moselle Road property from Don Houck for $257.000.

The above property is the home out by the road where the entrance to the kennels are located. Other tracts are listed as add ons.

Attorneys Drop Efforts To Remove Alex Murdaugh From Satterfield Suit And Silence Eric Bland

https://www.fitsnews.com/2022/02/14...gh-from-satterfield-suit-sanction-eric-bland/

A Judge was set to hear arguments in the Satterfield case from Alex Murdaugh‘s “bulldog” attorneys Monday morning, but the hearing was canceled after both parties came to an agreement on several matters, Columbia attorney Eric Bland said Sunday evening.

Bland represents the family of Murdaugh’s longtime housekeeper who died after a trip and fall accident at the Murdaugh family’s hunting lodge in 2018.

Murdaugh is accused of leading a scheme to defraud the family of their entire $4.3 million wrongful death settlement.

At issue for Monday’s hearing were:

A motion from the defense to dismiss Murdaugh from the lawsuit
A motion from the defense to silence and sanction Bland for his comments in the media
A motion to dismiss Bank of America as a defendant from the Satterfield lawsuit
Two motions to cancel lis pendens filings that were placed on two properties owned by the Murdaugh family by the plaintiffs

All parties withdrew their motions ahead of Monday.

Two More Survivors of 2019 Boat Crash File Lawsuits Against Murdaughs, Including Maggie And Paul

https://www.fitsnews.com/2022/02/15...-against-murdaughs-including-maggie-and-paul/

Morgan Doughty and Miley Altman are the last two passengers to file suit in the crash, which left both women injured. The complaints were filed separately in the Hampton County Courthouse on Monday.

The newest lawsuits also add the estates of Paul and Maggie as defendants — as well as Alex Murdaugh’s two brothers, Randy Murdaugh and John Marvin Murdaugh. Randy is the personal representative of Paul’s estate, and John Marvin is the personal representative of Maggie’s estate.

Alex and Maggie Murdaugh knew of Paul’s excessive drinking and history of reckless behavior while under the influence, according to the lawsuit.

Before the fatal boat crash, Maggie Murdaugh would “like” photos on social media showing her underage son drinking alcohol.

Murdaugh home where disgraced SC lawyer’s son, wife were murdered listed for $3.9M

The sprawling Colleton County country estate where two members of a once-prominent South Carolina legal family were murdered in June is for sale.

Paul and Maggie Murdaugh’s killings are unsolved as their father and husband, suspended attorney Alex Murdaugh, remains incarcerated in the Richland County Jail on a $7 million bond for more than 70 criminal financial charges.

The Murdaugh’s home and hunting lodge, nicknamed “Moselle” by locals after the street it’s located on, was in Maggie’s name at the time of her death. She left all her property to Alex when she died, according to her will, but his money and assets are frozen and being held by two court-appointed receivers pending the slew of criminal and civil cases against him.

The 1,772.2-acre property is listed for $3.9 million on Crosby Land Company’s website. The company is known for selling large, historic plantations like Bonny Hall Plantation in Beaufort County and recently listed Poco Sabo Plantationin Colleton County.

At least one buyer has made an offer on the property and will have 90 days to finalize the sale, according to multiple news reports.

<snip>

Attorney Eric Bland, who represents the estate of the Murdaugh’s former housekeeper Gloria Satterfield, who died after an alleged trip-and-fall incident at Moselle, confirmed he agreed to lift his lis pendens filings. His clients are among dozens of alleged victims in the financial crimes Alex Murdaugh is charged with to be awarded money.

“When the property’s sold the bank would pay off what’s on the mortgage and net proceeds would be given to the receiver until the court decides when and how to divide that pool of money,” Bland said Monday, explaining Murdaugh would not be able to access profit from the sale without court approval.
