well, I wasn't 100% sure about that statement, I admit, just a thought that could be the reason that JMM is drawn into this whole thing. I would take her side, but her organization is being investigated for many financial things, like how she is making more money than a ministry is allowed to make, for example. Like how non profit organizations say they give their profits away to charities but then give their exec's huge salaries.

I can't see blaming JM for any of this. I have read alot of her books and she is a really in your face, up front person and doesn't sugar coat anything. I think she was deceived like everyone else who knew him was, even his own wife. Like someone else here said, the closer you are to someone, the harder it is to see these things, because you love and trust them, or at least you want to.

I mean, even if JM did have doubts about him, what was she to do...go to the cops and say, gee my security guy seems a little off, I think he might be having an affair, and he's probably going to kill his entire family. I doubt there's any of us here that would do that.

I was married to a wacho whose family totally looked the other way and only after I escaped, did a few of them come to me and tell me the truth about what they had also experienced.

Milo....

JM has knowing hired sex offenders in the past and had them working with young people.

http://www.rickross.com/reference/meyer/meyer11.html

JMM has allegedly changed their policy about such hires, but I am sure what she knew about CC will be looked into.

Snipped from your linked article:

"At Joyce Meyer Ministries, we believe in restoration and in rehabilitation of people - giving them a second chance," the ministry said in its statement. "We go to considerable lengths to make sure we have a first-rate security system to ensure that no minor or adult is at risk."

While the ministry had allowed Jones to work with teens, the ministry said that it believes Jones was not a danger to the children because he was never alone with them. It said that there have been no complaints about Jones' conduct while working for the ministry.

I think it is quite the "leap" to go from hiring a known sex offender to give that person a second chance, to assuming JMM knew that CC was a "murderous personality" - or whatever Artie wrote - but did nothing about it.
We're talking a Grand Canyon of a leap IMO.

Until all this went down, I didn't know anything about JMM. So, I have no comment about the financial issues, charities, salaries, etc.

I'm not singling you out by saying this, but it seems to me that a lot of people have an axe to grind with JMM . . . and this has provided them an opportunity to do so.

How great of a Christian is she? I don't know. But if what you are saying, or implying (or whatever), regarding her business as a church is true; trust me, she didn't want CC providing her with all this negative press! It would only serve to put the spotlight on her and the organization.

um, CC was in the military. Are you telling me that the army did no psychological checks on CC? Did no one thing that he was a little unstable? I mean, look at him! He devised a plan to kill his family.

I was in the military too! And no, they don't perform psychological checks on personnel unless there is a reason to do so.

Is he unstable? Depends upon the definition you would use? Clearly, not so much that he wasn't able to fool virtually everyone in his life; quite possibly, and sadly, even his wife and children.

Milo...

I am not sure where you are from, but here in St. Louis, JMM, has had issues with the local media exposing her ministry and the lavish lifestyle her and her inner circle lead. I would invite you to google her ministry and the stltoday.com and read for yourself and you can form your own opinion.

That is why many of us question her motives in the whole scenario. She may be totally clean in this entire event, but there is too much money involved not to wonder.....how much she knew or did not know...

I read on another web site last night that CC had taken out additional life insurance on SC in December.

Also I read that a neighbor had heard a loud fight around 3am on the morning of the murders.

Has anyone else read about this?

yes'm...we have discussed that.

However, haven't seen/heard solid confirmation on either of those 'facts'...trial will be interesting, don't you think?

So many of us thought CC could have 'fixed' his problems with a divorce vs. senseless slaughter of his family.

I just read this story -- and it makes me think perhaps even divorce would never have been an acceptable solution:

Belleville man guilty of trying to blow up ex-wife, daughter

I am so glad they convicted him. We didn't know them, but, we felt the blast! Luckily, nothing damaged here, although others did have damage. What that poor woman went through, thankfully, he didn't make good on his plan to kill her and the daughter.

She is his ex wife now but at the time of his attempt she was still married to him.

you're right, MMM -- I read that but it's not what stuck in my brain.

thanks for hanging in there with me. LOL

Has anyone even given a thought about where Sheri and her Children are burried? or am I missing something here?

I guess not....

All Christian evangelists, regardless whether there is an ounce of truth to it or not, will be victims of attempts by non-Christians to be painted in a bad light in some manner. That's just the reality of the world we live in. As a Christian myself, I am disappointed that so many of us here were hesitant to immediately conclude that CC was guilty of killing his wife and children...but don't have a bit of hesitancy implicating Joyce Meyer in this horrendous crime simply because she was CC's employer. God forbid anyone I am related to, or even acquainted with, do something in which I am implicated simply because I am somehow associated with him/her. Wow.

May God hold Sheri and her boys in His loving hands and may He comfort all those that loved them -- including the Colemans (or are they implicated, too, just because they share genetics with CC?).

Does anyone know if CC was actually in combat? If so I'm betting the defense will say he had post tramatic stress syndrome from serving, lost his mind, and killed his family.
I'm just trying to figure out how the defense is going to play!

You are very lucky, Medusa!! This guy obviously didn't care about anyone but himself....I think I get further & further away from understanding the human race every day.

I am not sure what you mean??? We know they are buried in Chester at a site chosen by CC? Other than that?
