Susan Lane-Fournier aka "Phoenix" age 61, missing since Thursday 11/21/24 Last seen leaving the Hoodland Bazaar, her white F-250 was found on Salmon River Road in the Mt Hood National Forest near Welches, Oregon.

Lane-Fournier, who is also known as “Phoenix,” was reported missing after she failed to show up for work. Authorities believe she was hiking with her two large Malinois-mix dogs in the Green Canyon Way Trail area, south of Welches.
Lane-Fournier is described as 5'2", weighing 150 pounds, with reddish-brown hair. Although she is familiar with the area, it remains unclear if she was prepared for an overnight stay. Temperatures in the region have been dropping into the 30s, with light rain adding to concerns about her well-being.

I don't see her age posted. She is 61.

Thank you, I edited my first post to include her age but don't think I can edit the thread description.
Susan is a friend of a friend and they're very concerned.

I'm sorry to hear this case is close to home for you. I know from experience how hard it can be to follow a case that is local and personal.

Any sign of the dogs on the trail?

Clackamas County searches for missing hiker and her dogs

It is heartening to know Phoenix is familiar with the trails and has hiked in the area. What is concerning is nobody seems to know if she had adequate supplies and equipment for an extended stay in the elements :( I hope they find her soon.

Unless you're a member, can't read more than a couple of comments. Not very helpful if you ask me.

Gesch came across her friend’s white 1992 Ford F-250 the next day parked along the Salmon River Road near the Old Salmon River Trail, she said. The area is just south of Welches. Susan “Phoenix” Lane-Fournier’s truck is pictured abandoned near the trail. Cari Gesch The “popular hiking trail” is 2.7-miles out-and-back, and it never strays too far from the road, according to AllTrails and Gesch. At first, Gesch said she didn’t know her friend was missing, but something didn’t feel right about the truck. “It just was an odd place for somebody to be parked,” she said. She told a local pizza shop owner and saw a Facebook post about Lane-Fournier’s disappearance. The discovery of her truck drew search teams to Mount Hood National Forest, where Lane-Fournier may have went hiking with her two Belgian Malinois-mix dogs, deputies

But Gesch said her friend likely wouldn’t hike in the area with her dogs because the animals are “not very people friendly.” “They were her protectors. Those were guard dogs. I mean, if anybody would get near her, they would lose their minds,” Gesch said.

uh oh, yeah there are definite comments of interest. May be more to this one than a gal who went on a hike and something unexpected happened :(

Officials with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and search-and-rescue crews spent another day near the Salmon River Trailhead searching for Fournier, whose friends call her “Phoenix.”

"It's better to assume and not act than assume and act and we're just trying to remain calm, stoic and hope for the best,” her son Dakota Lane said during an interview with KATU.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said they had four teams searching for Fournier and deployed multiple drones to assist in the operation. The person also commented on a report that Susan’s two dogs had been found, and noted they had “investigated this and confirmed the dogs were not hers.”

The search has been suspended based on weather conditions and her likelihood of survival given the same. I am still not personally convinced she was "hiking' as she had stated she didn't take the dogs hiking due to their behavior around other people. But I can't think of any other reason her truck would have been found there. I was hoping for better news for her friends and loved ones. Search called off for missing Oregon woman and her 2 dogs

I'm not convinced she went hiking with her dogs either.

I hope some clues emerge.

I cannot imagine what this family is going through. I'm no expert. Maybe calling off the search was the only responsible thing to do. She is and experienced hiker and probably able to survive longer than a less experience person. It feels too soon to abandon her.
