On Tuesday, Prince Louis, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child will hit his first birthday.

As the third son of the future King, Louis might be an HRH but the reality is that that is quite far down the totem pole and as such his adult life will be both sadly constrained (with media watching his every move and no real chance for a proper career) and yet lacking in any real definition.

Prince George, as the future Prince of Wales and then King, will face a lifetime of duty.

From his late teen years, his role will be completely dictated by the rigours and responsibilities that come with one day assuming the Crown. His trajectory is completely and utterly certain.
The bleak reality of Prince Louis’ royal life

Louis is the second son, third child of a future king. With the monarchy being 'slimmed down' and modernized, its quite possible that Louis will have to have gainful employment as an adult. Its also quite possible that once the Queen shuffles off this mortal coil, that the Monarchy will be totally different from anything we have seen to date.

People are not as fond of supporting this families' lifestyle any longer and the population of Great Britain has changed drastically. Both are reasons for the RF to become more like their other European cousins and become self supporting. IMO

He will have it better than 99.9% of those in his generation. I’m sure that he will survive and even thrive.

Hey all - when I first moved over here to Europe 2 1/2 years ago - I signed up with the U.S. Embassy for "alerts". I received this one for the UK today - a Level 2

Exercise increased caution in the United Kingdom due to terrorism.

Terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in the United Kingdom. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping malls, local government facilities, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks, major sporting and cultural events, educational institutions, airports, and other public areas.

There is also a risk of isolated violence by dissident groups in Northern Ireland, focused primarily on police and military targets.

Read the Safety and Security section on the country information page.

If you decide to travel to the United Kingdom:

    • Be aware of your surroundings when traveling to tourist locations and crowded public venues.
    • Follow the instructions of local authorities.
    • Monitor local media for breaking events and adjust your plans based on new information.
    • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program(STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
    • Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter.
    • Review the Crime and Safety Report for the United Kingdom.
    • U.S. citizens who travel abroad should always have a contingency plan for emergency situations. Review the Traveler's Checklist.
Last Update: Reissued after periodic review without changes.

There was an earlier article about the family calling George "PGTips" after the teabags used in their home.

I would have thought the schools would be sticklers for using proper names, unless its like 'known as Wills'.

There was a lot of blue amongst everyone, but the queen was gender-neutral and wearing sherbert green! She looks so lovely, she really does.
