They seemed like the perfect couple. It was a facade - Fuller #badenclay

A bit late for notes now GBC? Unless he is intending to pass another to the jury?

Allison told counsellor she was a wife and a mother. Gerard cited his community involvement. Shows the difference - Fuller #badenclay

Pathologist can't say how she died. You can't be expected to decide how - Fuller #badenclay

You just need to decide he killed his wife and did it intentionally - Fuller #badenclay

10:34am: Mr Fuller said Mr Baden-Clay reacted to the pressures in his life on the night of April 19, 2012.
"What's building on this man here? What's changing in his life in the period we're talking about here?" he asked.
Mr Fuller said Mr Baden-Clay's actions were a "reaction to a particular set of circumstances that accumulated over time, a set of circumstances that were in fact his own making".

Fuller says the jury needs to decide whether Gerard killed his wife, if there was intent. #badenclay

Fuller says nobody saw the killing, nobody has confessed. Means their case is circumstantial. #badenclay

Fuller says "circumstantial case" is a much maligned term. But can be every bit as compelling. #badenclay

It's a really good point Todd made about reasonable doubt and that we make assessments every day based on it. It's got me thinking as the judge doesn't tell the jury what it means. For eg we don't jaywalk unless we think beyond reasonable doubt that we won't get hit by a car. It's a higher than just deciding something is more probable than not.
In some jurisdictions the jury are told they have to be sure of guilt before they can convict. Just like we feel sure it's safe to cross the road before we attempt it.

Thanks Todd. You have helped me.

Fuller says the jury must look at the evidence as a whole and make a decision from that. #badenclay
