The Verdict Waiting Room

Interesting.
We were free to do as we pleased while trial was underway. We were escorted to the pavement, warned about approaches and talking in public, and then allowed to roam at will. Some ate together, others spent the time alone wandering town for a feed.
Only once deliberating were we forced to stay in the room as a group with lunch supplied.
I wonder if it depends on the charges then as to what is done. The trials I was on were not Brisbane courthouse but in Queensland still.

Ok, my guess is 3.35pm - that's when we will hear the verdict.

Those of you who have been there all day, how long do you plan to hang around, until the jury is dismissed for the day? which may not be until after 4 or 5 tonight. That's if there is no verdict before that of course

Allison's good friend is here. Yellow scarf and watch.

I dunno, surely they are not 100% convinced he is going to get off this? There must be some element of doubt, even just a little bit
He is their son and I would think they expect him to come home.

Darren McMillan, Lofty, Shari Armistead - all the big guns.

Arghhh the wait is doing my head in! Can't stop eating :tantrum: I keep trying to remind myself it is nothing compared to what the Dickies and Allison's friends are going through.

Thanks for the all the jokes and laughs, you lovely bunch of people :loveyou:

My BIL was shot in a drive-by shooting years ago. During the perps trial we all stuck together and kept out of sight. Journo's chasing you. It was awful.
Couldnt eat or think straight. Thats with my BIL as the victim. horrible times

When I was on a murder jury was years ago in Qld. But bailiff protected us from everything and everyone. We didn't reach a verdict so were all taken to a motel for the night. Police had to drive all over to get our PJ's and they even had to feed someone's cat who lived alone. We ate food together in the jury room at that stage. Made a quick-ish decision next day. But I don't think in Qld any more the jury gets a motel stay. Seem to be let home.

I've been on other jurys, but the last one we only took 30 minutes to make a decision.

I would love to see this but when I open the link I don't have permission yet to see attachments it seems

I was a lurker for ages before I got tired of not being able to see the pictures. then I felt silly just typing stuff to get my post count up so I could. :)
Welcome

Haha. Maybe a few kittens up a tree would be a better idea. But on a very, very hot day, where is absolutely necessary that their shirts be removed.

Mr fireman says "where's the fire"!
Courious says "In your eyes sweetheart".

OK it sounds like we've got a plan.

After my Valium milkshake.

In that case, I think they are deluded. I understand they are family but they should at least be prepared for the verdict to not go the way they want it to go

I would still be nervous about it. No matter if I was 100% of belief of his innocence.. Maybe thats just me. I would be worried about what if the jury got it wrong. I mean if EBC & NBC believe he is innocent- he was still convicted and had to stand trial, so that went against them even though they believe he is inncocent. So for me I would be worried that even though I believed it- there would still be a chance that he would be wrongly convicted. Even if I didn't want to believe it. (Simply by the fact he is standing trial there is a chance)
