Memphis Police say they are getting conflicting accounts from the mother of a missing newborn.

Police say 7-week-old Aniston Walker was last seen Thursday morning at a home in the 5600 block of Falling Bark Drive.

The mother reportedly said she left the infant at home alone and when she returned, the girl was gone.

Aniston is a black female with brown eyes, medium complexion, approximately 21″ and 10 lbs., and was last seen wearing a brown onesie with football emblems.

Police are searching homes under construction, dumpsters and trash bins, and a wooded area near where Aniston was last seen.

Cadaver K-9 units are now at the scene.

I hope this isn't going where I think it is. When did our babies become expendable?

The farthest reaches of hell are reserved for those that would harm an infant. I hope, first, that sweet Aniston is alive and well. And if she's not, please let justice be swift.

As jaded as I have become reading about these horrible crimes against children, I just don't get it.

Unfortunately I think that IF this poor child was kidnapped, it would be by someone who wanted a 7week old baby for themselves and would take care of her (not saying that is ok!!!!!!), not leave her out in the cold.

IMO, this poor child has been harmed by a family member whose job it was to protect her, and has been disposed of.

Forgive my harsh words....Jaded, disgusted mother posting here.

About 6 p.m., police seemed to scale back the search and to zero in on one house under construction near the infant’s home. Then, officers escorted someone from the home to a police cruiser, which quickly left the scene. The media was kept too far away to see who was taken to the cruiser.

About 6:30, police brought a child's rocking chair out of the house and put it in the back of a crime scene investigation van.

Honestly, the brains (or lack thereof) of "parents" these days....

Mum says she left Aniston at home, LE says Mum is giving conflicting accounts.

In this case, does 1 + 2 = 3? Join the dots. And I just shake my head.

Yes, this address is 2 miles from me.. I know that its being reported by some as being a Bartlett address, but in all honesty it's in the city limits of Memphis.. It's right at about 1 mile out of Bartlett, crossing over into the city limits..

I am very familiar with exactly where this home is due to for many years there was a popular, little neighborhood type bar with pool tables, a huge, full service bar, grill, dance floor, and bands that played there 3-4nights a week.. This home on Full Barking Dr is located directly behind where this bar was located that we frequented..

Anyhoo, that's neither here, nor there since this bar actually closed down a year or so ago..and has since then reopened under a new name, and new owners.. But just giving a reference for where this particular address is located where they're reporting that the baby was left alone, and disappeared from..:smh:

Sadly, to me, it does NOT seem to be promising in the least that this will have a happy ending.. Hopefully I'm completely wrong, and am jumping the gun on what's the most likeliest outcome.. Such a tiny little human being to just be "lost' somewhere in this great big, ol' evil world we live in.:(

Thanks for starting this thread, The Cheese.
I live close to Memphis (in Desoto county, Mississippi) and hadn't heard about this until your post.
I've been so wrapped up in Teleka's case that I haven't been following anything else!
I am hoping for a good outcome but the track record for these types of cases in this area has not been positive.

Darling baby Aniston, I hope you are alive and well, and found safely soon.

Sadly, it isn't looking good. I think this will end up being (yet another) case of neglect, another sweet child lost. :(

Since this house is located right behind a bar, I wonder if it tempted mom to go there and hangout while baby slept. I mean, since it was so close and everything. :banghead:
