AMBER ALERT TN - Autistic teen Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers, 15, missing in Hendersonville - Feb 27, 2024 #3

This case is so frustrating.

Ok. Little rant! Posters are asking for links to interviews done at the start of the investigation and quite rightly so. However there are hours upon hours of these tapes and for posters who have listened to all interviews in full it is almost impossible to go back through unedited interviews to provide requested links. Even more so when the interview in its completeness is no longer readily available.

I’m not asking anyone to take me word for it. But listening to complete recordings of all interviews is the only way to be informed of what each parent has said, to who and when.

CP has said he hit Sebastian with a belt TWiCE. I know that was said by him and over the course of his interviews this has changed or alter his ‘recollections’ (just as KP did with the last thing Sebastian said to her).

Who knows what is the truth? Sebastian is a minor and the DCS file is private. Seth has given his word to the authorities he will not release the contents.

Of course the only people that know how exactly how many times CP hit Sebastian is Sebastian and CP himself.

I made brief notes about what is said in most of the early videos (with timestamps) but haven’t seen any of the more recent interviews. If it helps, here’s what I have.

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #1: Sebastian’s mom Katie and stepdad Chris spoke with YouTube creator Dutchess (audio only; interview begins near the 23:00 mark)

- CP contacted the Sheriff’s Department to report Sebastian missing

- SR doesn’t have social media and his phone was left at home

- SR’s biological father Seth is very much involved in his life and communicates with mom and stepdad often

- CP is currently involved in an ongoing custody case in another state

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #3: Chris and Katie Proudfoot are interviewed by FOX 17 but only their hands are shown

- none of SR’s shoes are missing and the door was locked

- SR went to bed wearing black sweatpants with a white stripe down the side and a black long-sleeved shirt with a print on the front

- KP and SR were out and about on Sunday running errands

- CP left Memphis soon after he contacted the sheriff’s office on Monday and headed back to Hendersonville

- CP would not say if KP & CP were still staying in the home; he would only say they’ve done everything LE has asked of them and he wasn’t going into any more detail than that

SETH ROGERS INTERVIEW #2: Seth spoke with NewsChannel 5 at the vigil

- Seth doesn’t think it’s likely that SR would leave home barefoot in the middle of the night

- Seth shares two short video clips of SR at school

SETH ROGERS INTERVIEW #3: Seth called in and spoke with the host of The Pascal Show on YouTube (interview begins at 21:23)

- Seth learned SR was missing after his work shift ended on Monday morning and he saw a text from Chris that said he needed to call ASAP; after learning the news, he then drove straight to the Proudfoot home and was there all day

- LE asked the family questions and took their phones to verify their stories

- Seth says a dog handler told him, personally, that his K9 picked up a scent that was tracked to a construction site but the trail ended there and nothing was found

- Seth says before he goes out on his own searches, he notifies TBI (at their request) about where he’s going to be

- Seth moved from California to Tennessee to be close to Sebastian

- SR played video games on Seth’s Playstation, but the settings were set where only those on his Friends List could contact him; he says that was also always right there next to him when SR was playing

- SR was supposed to move in with him full-time at the beginning of summer

- Seth didn’t call SR on the weekends he spent with his mom, but they spoke daily or every other day during the week

- there are no video cameras inside or outside of SR’s home (to his knowledge)

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #4: Chris and Katie spoke again with the Dutchess on YouTube (audio only)

- On Sunday, KP and SR picked up a niece and went shopping at BJ’s and then spent time at the bowling alley; later, just KP and SR went to dinner

- SR took out the trash Sunday night when they got home and then played in his room until bedtime

- KP talked to CP on the phone while he was at work until she started to fall asleep and then went to bed around midnight

- SR takes medication both daily and nightly, but they can’t discuss the specific medications “due to HIPAA reasons”

- SR regularly and consistently locked the door behind him

- SR is extremely high functioning but doesn’t have a sense of personal space and has social and emotional dysregulation issues; his actions don’t always appropriately match the situation

- CP has never been charged with domestic violence but had a temporary protective order against him in New Mexico with his ex-wife

- they declined to answer whether there were cameras at the home or whether SR has a key to the house; they cited the ongoing investigation as their reason for not answering these questions

(begins at 1:48:18)

Q: The results of the polygraph were that you passed. Is that you both passed?
A: Yes

(begins at 1:56:09)

Q: They want to know that you definitely took a polygraph and passed because it got cut off by a different question and they feel like you did not answer.
A: Somebody asked a question, was a polygraph taken and has it been passed, yes. I didn’t specify who or when, but what I can tell you… everything has been vetted completely. Polygraphs have come back as passed. So, I’m confused as in why they’re all wondering if myself, my wife, and the biological father took one when law enforcement agencies has come out and told everybody. Even in the TBI news link, if you guys hadn’t read that please go out and read that. That’s got a lot of great information in it. Especially, it’s probably the most up-to-date information, but they will even tell you at this point in time there is no – they have no reason to speculate foul play or anything on the parents. Everybody’s been extremely cooperative of anything and everything they’ve asked us, okay.

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #5: Chris and Katie are interviewed by YouTube content creator, Chronicles of Olivia

- KP heard a noise in Sebastian’s room after he went to bed

- KP drove around looking for SR before CP called the sheriff’s department to report him missing

- they have seen the full video that is being depicted as flashlights outside the home and know where the video came from; it has been thoroughly analyzed by LE and was determined NOT to be flashlights

SETH ROGERS INTERVIEW #4: with Nancy Grace (begins at 1:53)

- Seth learned Sebastian was missing around 7:20 am that morning (although CP first reached out to him at 6:20 am, his phone was in his truck while he was working) and he arrived at their home around 8:00 am

- SR was not taking mainstream classes; he was enrolled in a program for children with special needs but learned the same curriculum

- SR is very smart but he lacks social skills and has trouble reading body language; he likes routine and a controlled environment

- Seth sees SR every other weekend and on extended breaks; he has SR any time that he’s not in school (during the summer, Spring Break, etc.)

- the only thing known to be missing from his home is a keychain flashlight

- SR’s three pairs of shoes were left by the front door — his old tennis shoes, the new tennis shoes his mom just bought him, and boots Seth had just bought him

- SR’s phone was completely locked down and he couldn’t access the internet; he only had the ability to take pictures, text, Facetime, and phone calls; LE took possession of the phone the same day he was reported missing

- the flashlight video came from a Ring camera in the neighborhood, which has no street lights

- Seth has not been asked to take a polygraph, but he has offered to take one

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #6: live stream interview with YouTube content creator, Smiley Storey’s World (begins at 8:13)

- CP hadn’t seen SR since the first of February because of work

- CP took all of their pet snakes (including Sebastian’s) to a breeder because SR stopped taking care of them like he should (39:41)

- CP punished SR for not cleaning his room properly by making him throw away everything he’d left on the floor (44:55)

- CP has been married 5 times (51:34)

- CP has had CPS called on him in two states — New Mexico and Tennessee (and that includes with Sebastian) (1:07:15)

- SR got in trouble because he didn’t have a belt on and CP made him go get it and “WACK! I kinda got him”; SR told his teacher, who reported it to CPS; the CPS worker who showed up at the house had been there before “about something that didn’t even happen and it was three stories shoved into one” (something about Sebastian getting mixed up with a story?)

- CP said Sebastian thought he could get CP in trouble by telling his teacher, but according to Chris, the CPS lady took SR outside after shear heard what happened and explained to him that he could actually get in trouble for trying to make his punishments seem worse than they really were; Chris said the CPS lady apologized to him for the visit

- KP then clarifies that she doesn’t let CP beat Sebastian with a belt and he didn’t beat him with a belt (1:12:07)

- LE hasn’t taken any fingerprints or tested the house with luminol (1:24:36); the Proudfoots said they even suggested to LE that they do so but LE declined

- CP and KP know Sebastian left out the front door because he would have been seen on camera if he had exited out of the back door (1:27:31)

- CP says he HAS used a belt on Sebastian on his buttocks outside of his clothes (1:34:31)

- they didn’t attend any vigils for security reasons

- the medication SR was taking would not be life threatening if he didn’t have it with him, but you’re not supposed to suddenly stop taking it either

- CP knows at least 5 dogs were brought in the first day and a couple took their handlers through a construction zone and over to a retention pond; the pond is no higher than knee deep and was drained; the scent disappeared there

PROUDFOOT INTERVIEW #7: interviewed by Nancy Grace (5:22)

- SR’s bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from mom

- the Proundfoots don’t have an alarm or Ring doorbell camera

- KP has taken a polygraph and passed; CP says he volunteered to take a polygraph but was told by LE that he didn’t need to because of his whereabouts at the time

- their dogs sleep in an indoor dog pen

- the house has flood lights, but they are not motion censored, don’t typically turn them on, and they weren’t on the night SR went missing; they also have two small solar lights in the garden and two lights above the garage that were on

- the images in the “flashlight video” are not flashlights

- KP’s work vehicle was parked in the driveway (her personal vehicle was in the garage) but they can’t give out the make/model of her work van because they don’t have permission from her employer; she’s an installation technician

- SR knows the code to unlock the front door but doesn’t know the code to unlock or open the garage door

- KP described the noise she heard in SR’s room around 10 pm as a thud; she said she called out and asked him if he’d fallen out of bed – he said no ma’am and she told him to quit doing whatever you’re doing and go to sleep

- CP says LE has told him not to reveal the exact dates he was at the home in Feb

- the Proudfoots have left their home in Hendersonville, TN

- CP now says that he swatted Sebastian’s butt over his clothes once because he lied to them (although, he doesn’t remember what about); he says this happened several years ago and was the first and only time it happened (24:25)

- CP now says the belt incident didn’t result in a CPS call or complaint

- CP says the only CPS case he knows about was opened after HE filed a complaint/requested a welfare check when his ex-wife fled to New Mexico with his daughter; he says he doesn’t know why there would be a complaint on record against him and isn’t aware that there is one

- CP’s ex-wife in New Mexico filed a TPO (temporary protection order) against him after he filed one against her in Tennessee; the TPO is no longer in place and/or active

- CP says he knows for a fact that three different dogs hit on the retention pond; LE has said there have been no hits on the pond

- the Proudfoots also said scent dogs hit all around the outside of the house

- UCN VP said he’s not exactly sure who some of his people talked to about joining the search for Sebastian

SETH ROGERS INTERVIEW #7: Seth spoke with FOX 17

- he can’t discuss the info shared during his meeting with TBI

- the surveillance video footage that appeared to show flashlights moving around in the area was a trash truck

- none of the family members are considered suspects but have not been cleared (and won’t be cleared) until the investigation is closed

- he only learned about the DCS call to the home after he watched recent interviews with the Proudfoots; he was never notified even though he has joint custody

- CP confirmed to FOX 17 that DCS had been called to the home before but “all those cases are closed”

Imagine living in a home where your stepdad hits you with a belt, throws away your belongings, and even gets rid of your pets. Combine that with soon to be going to a different school (online or in person, either is still a big change), and having trouble with social skills, making it harder to fit in. Unfortunately, I could definitely see Sebastian being depressed, or hopeless, and running off to commit suicide.

The CPS/DCS calls are not good and are cause for concern. In this transcript you've gratefully provided, it indicates CP lies about whipping Sebastian and also about CPS/DCS calls.

Has Seth been able to obtain those official reports about his son's welfare since he shares custody with Katie?

I may never forget seeing the couple's hands in that odd first interview with audio only.

Seth was not informed at the time, as he should have been.

In the Pascal interview a few days ago, Seth confirmed he has a redacted copy of ‘DCS records for that house’. Sumner County has had the file from the get go. But not TBI, so Seth asked them to request the unredacted file. He states he has a lot ‘more understanding of what went on in that household’ and says DCS has had more contact with the household than what is already known to the public. After legal advice, Seth stated has no plans on releasing the information to the public and is now considering the next move.

A few thoughts on these notes:

- Totally unrelated to the investigation, but I hate people misusing HIPAA as a reason to not share information.
- From above:
- CP has had CPS called on him in two states — New Mexico and Tennessee (and that includes with Sebastian)
- SR got in trouble because he didn’t have a belt on and CP made him go get it and “WACK! I kinda got him” SR
told his teacher, who reported it to CPS; the CPS worker who showed up at the house had been there before

- CP now says that he swatted Sebastian’s butt over his clothes once because he lied to them (although, he
doesn’t remember what about); he says this happened several years ago and was the first and only time it
happened
- CP now says the belt incident didn’t result in a CPS call or complaint

- And the final interview referenced:

My personal feeling is that the first interview would be the most accurate, BEFORE they had any media experience or advice on what NOT to disclose. Based on the fact that the first incident described sounds like he struck him once, then he admits to spanking him with a belt makes me think there are multiple incidents. CP also saying that Sebastian rolled three stories into one and that SR was trying to make the story more severe (which I doubt) sounds like multiple incidents as well.

The story CP tells in the second interview is in direct contrast to his comments in the first interview. Originally, SR didn't have a belt and got hit. In the second interview, it was for lying. Again, two different incidents. Also, we have three different stories as to whether or not CPS has been called to the house.

Sounds like an awful, abusive homelife IMO. Poor SR.

The inconsistencies in the stories are frustrating.

This also puts a spotlight on an important issue: a kid with a diagnosis on record makes a complaint about his parent. How do relevant authorities make sure that they thoroughly assess the issue without bias? In each case you have to be able to understand how the kid functions and communicates. You can’t default to the parent or assume the kid can’t understand, but you do have to take the kid’s functioning into account. I hope the CPS team gets solid training for that.

Man, I formatted this so well before posting and it all disappeared when I posted.

cujenn81 - Thank you so much for all your hard work! I wish I could send you a gift or at least a bottle of Excedrin o_O

Is there a way to save this and bring it forward to the first page when we open a new thread? It would be so helpful! :)

There is a K9 handler who is organizing searchers. This is the lady who was vetted by TBI. She can be contacted at Twitter handle:
The K9 Captain @k9_cpt She is currently making a roster for searches.

Earlier today she put out a search for someone who has experience
operating either a SAFE or Zodiac Cadets (or similar) boat and a licensed drone operator.

*****
The vehicles will be carrying signage with information about Sebastian.

The ride is organized by 615BOYZmc, a Nashville area mix sportbike/cruiser club, but anyone can participate in whatever vehicle they’d like, with no registration required. There will be an escort from the Hendersonville Police Department.

From above..

With rumors continuing to circulate regarding Sebastian’s disappearance, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there is no new credible information to share. Authorities said they’ve looked at the social media statements that are swirling and found them to be false.

Seems Special Agent Bobby, does NOT have the legal authority to vet K9s, as Tennessee law requires a private investigator's license, for all canines, except government canines. The TAG issues direct statement. Under Section 2.
