The sheriff’s office said that authorities are trying to find 34-year-old Britney Anderson Watson who was last seen between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. at 3317 Hillville Loop in Haywood County on January 7, 2023.

Authorities found her truck with a flat tire off of exit 52, the sheriff’s office said.

A 34-year-old mom who has been missing for more than a week is presumed dead by authorities in Tennessee, who have identified her potentially suicidal ex-husband as a suspect, they said.

HAYWOOD CO., Tenn. (WMC) - Just hours after Kevin Watson was arrested for the murder of his ex-wife Britney Watson, missing out of Haywood County, a body was found, according to Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr.

This comes after days of extensive searches for both parties in the rural areas of the county.

According to Sheriff Garrett, the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office received a call from one of Kevin’s friends around 5 p.m. Friday, who stated Kevin wanted to turn himself in to police.

Deputies were sent to the caller’s address in Tipton County where Kevin was arrested on a first-degree murder warrant.

Around 8:30 p.m., Sheriff Garrett confirmed a body was found buried near Kevin’s Hillville Loop address.

The body has yet to be identified and will be sent to the coroner’s office for an autopsy, Garrett says.

All search efforts will be suspended until the process is complete.

Watson went missing in early January out of Haywood County. A warrant was later issued for the arrest of her ex-husband Kevin Watson for first-degree murder.

The manhunt for Kevin Watson ended on Friday when he turned himself into a game warden in Tipton County after nearly two weeks on the lam.

A body was found on Kevin Watson’s property just hours after his arrest. Monday, investigators were able to confirm it was Britney Watson by checking fingerprint data."

This case, and the many others like this one, is most tragic and regrettable for all involved, especially when children are involved. It's unfortunate that so many cases of severe MH issues in our society result in situations like this in recent years.
