GUILTY TN - Evelyn Boswell, 15 months, Sullivan County, 26 DEC 2019 *MOM ARRESTED* #10

  • #761
What 17 year old doesn't know how to comb their own hair? AFAIK she was in foster care because she was truant from school and her father couldn't get that lazy cow to do her chores or make her go to school. She still had energy, matted hair and all..haha...to get herself pregnant. She's a disgusting waste and manages to manipulate those around her. Just look at all the people that wanted to help. Anyone of them would have taken care of little EB.

AB had custody of MB and she was indeed truant and taken by the State since AB preferred MB not attend school as MB was needed at home to look after AB's young children so AB and her bf could go on the hunt for dope!

I suspect MB had been using when she surfaced in her foster parents' home, pregnant, malnourished, and infested with lice. Shortly after EB was born, Tommy B gained custody of MB, took her out of foster care to his home, and eventually gave MB her own trailer after she failed to contribute to family home by cleaning and keeping up her own room! I agree, MB had options for baby EB but she was selfish, and did not want to share any of these caring people with EB-- they belonged to MB. :(

My sense of MB is that she did whatever she did for effect and attention. She lived on way and pretended to live another.... throughout the retelling of her life with Evelyn. Great mom taking umteen photos that were posted to FB while her daughter smelled and was neglected (as those testifying at the trial attested to). Perfect foster daughter but moves back in with Dad and trashes every single place she lived. One story/experience of her in one place AND another juxtaposing story at another. It seems people wanted to help AND then she burned those bridges.

She is right where she belongs but it is also true that her chaotic life and tribulations did indeed take a toll on her morals and willingness to do anything other than for herself. Fifty years is tooo short in my book.

Oh I get that. I tried to convey that. I just also look at my 14 year old minor child and I can’t understand how she was just “allowed” to live in filth and get lice and matted hair. She had parents. If she was that resistant to cleaning herself, isn’t that a gigantic red flag that something is deeply not OK here? That’s all I mean. I think there was a LOT of dysfunction happening in every direction, effectively by her family’s own admission, AND I think Megan is deeply disordered and a terrible person.

Funny thing about MB is that she took such good care of EB when living at the foster home those few months and then also while living with her Dad. It seems when she moved to the trailer she became her old pig self. She seemed to play the part of good mommy when living with others but once she got away from them she showed her true self. She lived like a pig and had the morals of one. She played the part of good mommy and then when on her own she was off and running trolling for men. It's too bad she may get parole someday if she lives that long.

MB’s Mother was arrested immediately following her testimony. She was led out of the courtroom. Serious dysfunction.

He said he was initially uncertain about the three murder charges against Boswell until the closing arguments. DA Amber Massengill’s closing arguments solidified his decision and gave him enough to convict.

Once deliberations began, the jurors first voted on the murder charges, reaching a unanimous decision. ...

Reflecting on the defense's strategy, the juror said he thought the defense would have been better served if they hadn’t thrown out multiple theories. He felt like they were throwing stuff at the wall to make it stick.

The prison has a capacity of 817 inmates and houses female offenders, including the state's only female death row inmate, according to TDOC. The facility offers " a multitude of evidence-based programs to meet the rehabilitative needs of offenders."

When the foster mother was testifing about her hair I initially thought she must be talking about a very young MB who had been taken from her parents for neglect.
Way beyond cringe worthy.
IMO:
How guys went near her is mind-blowing.

Just a wondering, but I would have liked hear from the falsely accused baby daddy on what her personal hygiene was like. Just a guess but I don't believe her infestation was that bad and it seems her hair grew back to a long length in just a short time. JMO

Thank goodness for an insightful jury! Looks like defense messed up trying to muddy the evidence. JMO

EB was born in Nov 2018 so the matted hair crawling with lice was before her birth which makes it quite a few years for MB's hair to grow if we're going by the length during her trial.
I'll pass on MB's hygiene description.

IMO:
If I could I would give MB another 10 yrs for her horrific false accusations against EP, her on again off again boyfriend, for how these lies affected him and his military career at the time, not even toughing upon the life long heart wrenching sadness and anger MB left so many with.

I'll never understand why MB's father never looked in EB's playhouse when she was first known to be missing to them.

It was right there on the family property.

According to Sullivan County Circuit Court Clerk Bobby Russell, the total cost of the trial was $29,619.96.

The biggest chunk of that total was the cost of lodging jurors and officers. Boswell’s trial resulted in Sullivan County’s first sequestered jury in almost two decades. A breakdown of costs stated that $16,198 was spent on lodging over the course of the trial.

“A trial of this magnitude and all the publicity that had been on it, it was really important to keep them in a place where they would not be exposed to any of the publicity that was coming out during the trial, not to give them any kind of influence,” Russell said. “Because a lot of times somebody can be interviewed, that’s not in the trial and may share an opinion, and you really don’t want the jury to hear anything other than what’s coming from inside the courtroom.”

$30K in comparison to the $4M in the Delphi Murder case who also had a sequestered jury. I'm just satisfied both of these child murderers were found guilty regardless of the cost. Neither deserve to walk among us as free individuals ever again.

Megan Boswell, the Sullivan County mother convicted of killing her toddler daughter, will not have a sentencing hearing Thursday, according to Court Clerk Bobby Russell.

Boswell was set to be sentenced on all of her other charges in relation to Evelyn’s death, besides first-degree murder. The hearing was originally scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

The Sullivan County Circuit Court Clerk's Office confirmed the information. A new date has not been set.
