Are people thinking he is driving the vehicle?

I don't. I think they ditched it somewhere and are either traveling in another vehicle or mode of transportation ... or they are sitting in a tent for awhile without moving.

jmopinion

I think he is driving the vehicle as little as possible. But I don't think he ditched it, unless they are in a city with good public transportation - hiding in plain sight.

Oh, I love Dateline, and 48 hours.I watch every episode and watch the repeats weekly. I'm just giving my opinion. You can't say hes a perv unless you KNOW hes had sex with her.You don't know that.

Perversion does not hinge on sex. Perversion is corruption or desire that is abhorrent or deviant. You can do nothing physically to a person and be a pervert. I mean, are you telling me a person who watches child *advertiser censored* isn't a pervert, because they've never sexually touched a child? By definition, pervert is exactly what this "man" is.
(And to be clear, he wouldn't be 'having sex" with her. He would be RAPING her.)

Yes, thats the law of it, but not my opinion of it.

what I find strange about her FB account, is the few friends who liked her posts, do not have anything on their pages asking for help to bring her home :(

I think probably a lot of her friends are hoping they make good their "escape". Kids often completely miss the big picture, and are silently happy for her that she is finding some kind of happiness in him, however twisted and unhealthy it is for her in the long run.

We are all allowed to have an opinion, of course. No argument there.

Out of curiosity, if you don't think she's a victim...then why post? (Please understand, I'm not telling you that you can't post or shouldn't be here.) I am only asking, because this is a victim friendly forum...and she is a victim. So you might find yourself frustrated here, just FYI.

I offered some info about the recommended Google Maps route between Columbia, TN and Mexico earlier.

Here is some similar info related to the route between Columbia, TN and New Orleans, a place where Tad helped during Hurricane Relief efforts.

There is a state park, Bogue Chiito State Park, along the route that does offer camping: http://crt.louisiana.gov/louisiana-state-parks/parks/bogue-chitto-state-park/index

Wooded areas with public access, but no advertised camping:
--Bayou Sauvage: Wildlife Refuge: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Bayou_Sauvage/about.html
--Salvador Wildlife Area: http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2765
--Maurepas Swamp: http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2791
--Biloxi State Wildlife: http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/32647

In New Orleans, there were 9 AirBnB locations offering a room for under $20 a night: https://www.airbnb.com/s/new-orlean...price_max=20&allow_override[]=&s_tag=pVdZzPU_

There are many, many more AirBnB options if you go up a few dollars.

Here, someone describes a somewhat "off the grid" lifestyle on the bayou:

I don't think, in this situation, life without the internet is "devastating".

Surprisingly, I have witnessed the opposite. While being in a foreign country with teens and without internet access, the teens were somewhat refreshed to live life without the social and expectation of social media pressure. The teens felt more alive when they focused on what was real and in front of them.

I have found that many teens and adults use social media to keep up with others, to have community, and at the same time they know that the life portrayed on social media is heavily skewed to the most positive moments of life. That can create a feeling of living a "loser" life in reality. The "likes" become a contest. This girl must have felt rejection in so many different forms, I don't think social media gave her a reprieve from that. The one exception, is the one she is with now.

I'm not sure that she thinks she needs anyone else or their rejections.

The above is my opinion only.

I completely agree. When my kids went on mission trips, even if they were enduring harsh conditions they described it as wonderful. All of them noted how happy children are on the border of Mexico, with nothing to play with except sticks and other found objects, compared with US kids who have their faces planted on a screen of some kind.

It was reported that he searched about his car and how they would track it.

Every major police department now has license plate readers on their cars (they literally record every license plate the camera sees and run it for stolen, un-licensed driver, lapsed registration, no insurance).

Most every toll plaza has cameras (with possibly the same type of facial recognition software, as well as plate readers).

If he did keep the car, and he does drive it, he will get caught, it would only be a matter of time.

A dark thought :moo: is that if he has had sex with her she could be pregnant, and this case could end up having a commonality with the Erin Corwin and Heather Elvis cases.

Thank you! Great work! It was mentioned that TC and ET may be traveling north of Decatur. I live in the mountains of NC. We have mild weather and there are many places to hide along the blue ridge parkway. In my rural mountain town, we see many outsiders. No one cares or pays attention. So many people hike and travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway. What are your thoughts?

I think it might seem like a great adventure to her for a while. Teens enjoy spending time away from their family members - hanging out with their peers. Unfortunately, this man is not a peer, he is a narcissistic, manipulative abuser and con artist, to say the least. How long will it take her to tire of it - to feel isolated and depressed?

You know they are after you and they are not telling details to help you, GPS, paper maps, not going to stores, look outside the window.

The above is my opinion only.

Details have a way of coming out, especially by the MSM. They always want to publish something, even to ruin an investigation to be the first with a scoop.

I mean, by now, we have all heard about the last phone ping in Decator?, the hotel\motel sweeps, and the false sightings in what ever town they quoted.

My only point is...that if he has internet access, so has he. If he was in any of those areas, he now knows to hunker down and just wait the LEO out.

And if he needs a new route out of town, the internet phone helps him again...

Well, I just wanted to see if anyone else felt similar. Right now the biggest danger I see is her running away from him because he can't take care of her then she may really be in some serious trouble as who knows what she might hook up with or what might hook into her.Hopefully they can get them both back safely.

Looks like she belonged to a few "Buy, Sell, or Trade" groups on FB

I wonder if LE looked into any transactions she may have been a part of in any of these groups. Could give clues to what they were buying, selling, or trading before she was taken.

I was actually just looking into the same thing. As well as trying to find if TC has joined any of the same groups but under an alias.

I think she felt isolated and depressed before this whole thing started, and that's what made her so vulnerable to TC. He probably wants to keep her isolated and all to himself and we don't know what kind of crap he's been filling her brain with. Unfortunately, he most likely has her convinced that no one else cares about her, and the longer he can keep her isolated like that, the harder it's going to be for her to try to break free. She's probably already tired of being on the run but has resigned herself to it.

Longer than your average teen, imo. She was bullied at school and had been abused at home. What's to be homesick for?

I live in a remote rural area. We only have a sheriffs office and over worked state troopers. On the back roads and small hwys you never see police officers. I could see if he stayed in rural areas, his car would not be traced or tracked.

I think that's a great path to explore. Would you mind linking to camping areas, state parks, or Air BnB rentals available in the remote NC areas you're thinking of?
