Authorities in Tennessee are investigating the gruesome death of a popular Memphis-area DJ who was allegedly found decapitated inside his home with his pants pulled down around his ankles.

The body of Rick Buchanan, also known by his stage name “Slick Rick,” was discovered on Wednesday afternoon by his brother John Buchanan.

The obvious question ... what are cops saying? FOX13 cites Memphis PD as only saying they're investigating. On its face, it sounds like an outright slaughter and butchering.

@10:08 AM PT -- Memphis PD says a cause of death for Rick Buchanan has yet to be determined, and more interestingly ... that there's no sign of foul play in terms of how he died. Of course, they say they're still investigating.

I think hanging must be considered and I can think of things that could explain the scene, but I'm not going to speculate further.

I guess cops think he decapitated himself. Or somebody paid them off. Or they are in someone's pocket. Or they are really sloppy investigators. Something fishy, here.
I notice they did not say if his head was found, or if anything was around his neck.

Well. I read this. Off to make sense of it if possible. Will keep in mind that there's someone in LE who believes that a man cut his own head off...

Errrr.... so, if decapitation isn't an indication of foul play... what is!??!??!?! Cuz Slick Rick did NOT cut his own head off!!! You can mark my words on that! And it's more than my opinion, it's FACT!

I might have missed this, where does it say his head was cut off? Do you have a source?

A head separating from a body can happen in many ways, hangings, accidental and suicidal, and auto accidents are two ways I've witnessed myself (LE). I also wouldn't doubt that somewhere, somehow, a person has managed to actually cut their own head off. The bizarre things that people do!

Rick Buchanan’s decapitated body was discovered inside his home in the Berclair area of Memphis, Tennessee, by his brother last Wednesday afternoon.

‘I walked in and found him and I just called 911,’ John Buchanan told Fox13. ‘I thought his coat was up over his head like it was cold or something.

‘I ran out and then I ran back in. And, then I realised it was something worse.’

I doubt he cut his own head off but stranger things have been known to happen. But especially since he was found still holding his keys.

‘Slick Rick’, was still gripping his keys and – according to his sister – wearing two pairs of pants with the outer pair pulled down.

I'm confused, are you claiming his head was cut off or not? You linked an article that doesn't say anything about this.
