DD didn't strike me as someone who doesn't have his wits about him. In fact, he seemed quite intelligent to me. When he was asked something he didn't know, he said he didn't know. When he gave an answer, he seemed absolutely sure his answer was correct. I also don't believe for one second that he did anything to hurt Summer, or even saw her that day, so why would I NOT assume he was being honest and factual in his recollections ? Having said that, here's what he actually had to say about the video Candus showed him and LE. I'll leave it to others to decide whether or not they believe him.

I think that was what he was told. And maybe that's why he isn't speaking publicly anymore?

Can you be sane in a society where someone took your beautiful child and your outlet for saying what you think of feel is on display to anyone in the world. 90% don't care and 10% think he's a good joke.

Privacy only exists if a person stays off the grid. Is his brand crazy or is it the evolved society that owns the crazy brand?

We don't know she told police that. It's more likely IMO the church friend didn't get a good look at the video or misunderstood what she was saying. After all, the focus that night was on Summer, who'd disappeared from home, not on who'd been swimming with her elsewhere in the early afternoon. It seems likely to me that the friend had a oblique view as Candus showed the video to the police officers. He saw or heard kids playing in the water. He mistook or assumed the boy in the video as one of Summer's brothers, and he assumed that all the brothers were there.

Why would Candus take a video recording of other children. Unless it is a event that contributed to her daughter's disappearance. Who took the video? She'd rather have her daughter back than protect certain individuals. IMO she may be spilling the beans.

I was talking to an individual who had abused drugs for most of his adult life. Don Wells reminds me of him. I had to ask the person I was questioning 4 times. The same question. It wasn't until I asked, why can't you answer the question? I believe he was stuck and it took some to shake him metaphorically and put in real time. It was like a broken record skipping.

I didn't even know this whole thing existed, I do things like tell myself to stay the hell away from it all.
It's so noisy and the people don't appear to be happy.
This is not my plan for my life.
I don't have a plan and 'crazy' is a matter of perspective, primarily.
It means nothing at all.

He said he saw the video and saw it was the brothers, not the friend. It does not sound like he misunderstood what she was saying, in my opinion. JMO

Also, DD is a retired Funeral Director. He is an experienced, educated man that worked in a serious role. I don't think he was taking his role as spokesman lightly.

I think he was repeating what he was being told. JMO

Same as that unless I'm in academic mode which is rushed and busy with information coming from all sides which must be verified.
Non-linear is a gentler way of being, more mellow.
I wouldn't ask DW a direct question unless I had hours to spare and a million qualifying questions to be answered.
With CW, I think she would make a decision to communicate.
That is what I saw in the CM interview with her.
I think it took her all to go through with it and he describes her breaking down in almost despair at one point which he mercifully didn't film.
She was so open she simply asked 'Why has God done this to me?' (paraphrased cos don't remember the exact words he said she stated.)
And there you have it- she provided a window to her life, she acknowledged it's shortcomings, referred to her house as not being , perhaps like other houses, not lovely.
And she was so open that her very spirit was crying for help. She cried. Maybe for the first time. Maybe it was the first time she felt heard, that somebody had made an effort to establish a rapport with her and an empathy.
I think they met each other half way, the interviewer and the subject, CW.
Respect to her for that!

Imo.

It was almost the exact same words he used in the past... but I think he was drunk. I'm not sure cos my eyes went up and my ears shut down almost immediately.. I don't think he knows what he's at..

And then, on his second try, you can hear him talk again about how much Summer loved him, and how she only wanted him , and then...you can hear Candus in the background open the door, step outside and call him an expletive, after which, Mrs. Cher quickly takes him off speaker phone.

IMO STILL neglecting that sweet little girls' needs.

When listening to the Cher’s interview last night it seems DW purposely repeated his self-glorified statement about working so hard so CW could spend so much time making memories with her children when she entered the house.
IMO is covert aggressive behavior and troubling.
Why does he insist on continuing this narrative. Doesn’t he follow the line if thinking that CW must be grieving horribly since now she doesn’t have the company of her only daughter or her sons?
Yet he continues to make the statement as some sort or dig on CW.
CW most likely recently found out some troubling accusations against DW. Why does he continue to treat her as though SHE is in the doghouse???
