Russia’s ambassador to Turkey was shot dead during a public appearance in the capital Ankara, a senior Turkish official and the Russian foreign ministry on

The ministry said Andrei Karlov had been shot after the assailant, who has not been identified, “opened fire chaotically” during a speech by the ambassador at an exhibition of pictures of Russia taken by Turkish photographers.

“Today in Ankara the Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Gennadievich Karpov, died from a wound he received in an attack. We qualify what has happened as a terrorist act,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters.

The Arabic intonation of the attacker (a real Turkish police) and his slogans suggest that he is highly likely affiliated with Al-Nusra....



Attacker seems to have both Al-Nusra and FETO affiliations.Confusing.He could be: a. A lone wolf Nusra b.A member of a Nusra Cell c.a FETO

No mask, no combat gear, no nothing.

I have difficulty putting into words why I find this so unnerving. But it does give me the creeps.

He's wearing a suit because he was part of the security detail for the ambassador, like an undercover police officer or secret service type position. I do think he fully expected to be killed as well, so no need for protection.
