That gas station is so close to his house! From what they said, it looks like he drove away safely from the gas station.

a little side by side I did. He looks like he takes off a shirt and leaves another shirt on underneath when walking to car from gym. It doesn’t look to be the same red muscle shirt at gas to me. I can’t get a good glimpse of shoes to compare color in the gym video.
If you Google map the home, there is a photo from Jan 2020. There is a work truck & trailer parked in front of the home, truck is not white.I noticed something last night and although very unlikely it's related to this, I'm gonna throw it out there. In the video there is a white work truck parked a few cars from Alan's car. It doesn't move or anything, then a white vehicle at the gas station ( not sure if its a SUV or truck) and in Alans pictures on his FB there is a white work truck in photos of homes he was working on. Granted the FB pics are from 2011 or so. I highly doubt we could get that lucky but it's been on my mind. IMO
That wasn’t where I was going with my comment ( I’m not sure where I’m going with it lol) just something that stood out to me I guessIf you Google map the home, there is a photo from Jan 2020. There is a work truck & trailer parked in front of the home, truck is not white.
Hope that helps.
I can tell you from experience, white trucks are commonplace, very common for fleet vehicles, very common for personal vehicles down here. We used to joke about a white truck being a suspects vehicle because it would be a needle in a hay stack. Out of the 20 or so vehicles that park in our lot, 4-5 are white trucks. I’ve heard people like them because they will stay cooler, also heard it’s because they will match the horse trailer (that may just be from the horse people). No worries about them looking like snowbanks or blending into the snow banks down here so I swear the ship them all down here.That wasn’t where I was going with my comment ( I’m not sure where I’m going with it lol) just something that stood out to me I guess
Agreed. I drive that way to work. It’s got some riff raft from the nearby homeless shelter but they typically seem harmless. There are a lot of pedestrians around there because of the DART station and elementary and middle schools.As a side note, the gas station is in an overall safe area.
Though still containing noticeable rough spots (Maple street off of Inwood gets more than iffy for about a 10-12 block stretch), the area has seen very steady gentrification over the last ten years or so. Likewise, Harry Hines gets rougher as one moves north beyond the medical district.
But, the area not only gets DPD patrols, but many of the large hospitals run private security patrols on their grounds and nearby parking areas etc. that contribute to the overall sense of security.
Then factor in that the gas station in question is a Racetrac. Dallas Racetrac gas stations tend to be extremely well lit, fully staffed and have signs advertising that they are designated safe places for runaways and that staff will call police quickly if needed etc. I cant see that gas station as having a noticeably bad reputation with local police.
<modsnip>
Likewise, as for "bump and grab" type car jackings, the area is gentrified to the extent that a high end car at that gas station would not stand out to the extent that it would be an obvious target of opportunity.

Good point about the homeless from Salvation Army. I agree with your typically harmless impression. Salvation Army runs a very tight ship rule wise.Agreed. I drive that way to work. It’s got some riff raft from the nearby homeless shelter but they typically seem harmless.
All that said, there was a random car jacking in the Park Cities (very affluent and nearby) and the woman was shot and killed in her driveway when it went sideways. They were caught but just adding to say that it happens.
Agree on the color, I’m just not 100% it’s a tank underneath, it looks a bit longer and more flowy to me than the tank... but really really hard to tell.I'm with you in that he took off a shirt before leaving the gym. I think that is the only time he changed clothes. The red undershirt we see at Racetrac is because they use color cameras, as their canopies are lit to daylight levels 24x7. I'm thinking the gym is using night vision cams, which will make certain colors look totally different depending on the material(reflectivity). Red can look white, grey or even dark. Ambient lighting has an impact too.
Local who has taken an interest in this case here! Forgive me if this has been explained, but why did he take that route home?
I’ve read he went straight through the light out of LA Fitness-which makes total sense to me. If you go through the Target lot you can actually get on Lemmon behind there, which would be a straight shot home to Inwood. Taking Maple seems unnecessarily out of the way, especially given the time of day.
Tim White agrees with you, listen to the video at link below. At the end, it seems Tim has something more to say but stops himself.Local who has taken an interest in this case here! Forgive me if this has been explained, but why did he take that route home?

I don't know of a dealer that is open that early considering he had that meeting to get to as well. IMODo we know when he planned to return the loaner car? If it was to be returned that morning, or directly after work, it would make sense that he topped up the tank at that time (my car dealer insists that loaner cars be returned with as much fuel in them as they had when they left the dealership). Is it possible that he took an apparently unusual route that morning because he intended to go from getting gas right to the dealership to drop off the loaner?
