GUILTY TX - Alicia Moore, 16, Greenville, 2 November 2012

This case hasn't been in the news much since the trunk was found. I am hoping there was enough DNA to send away for testing and the family can get some justice for Alicia.

Wow! Why?! I seriously can't think of one senario where closing down the found would help catch the perp. Can anyone think of any reason?

I just have a sinking feeling this is going to end up being a cold case. I really hope I'm wrong though.

They must know who the perp is already? might be family friend?

Alicia's Aunt is planning a "march" on Alicia's birthday, Feb. 23rd. Food, music and a chance to speak.

Gone but not forgotten.

Happy Birthday, Alicia. We won't forget you.

"So far, no suspects have been named and no arrests made in her slaying.

Investigators, which include the Greenville Police Department, Texas Rangers and Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, have remained tight-lipped about the investigation. Investigators have not even released the autopsy report that explains how Moore died."

I hope this means that LE is very close to an arrest and are simply protecting their investigation for that reason. May Alicia's killer be charged long before her next birthday.

Newly released documents in the case reveal Moore suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and was on medication for it. And her mother told police she'd disappeared before with an older male she'd befriended over the summer. That's why her case was initially filed as a runaway.

Also, another man told police he went into the RK Mart that afternoon. He said as he walked in he saw Moore sitting in the front seat of a car.

"I just remember seeing her walking all the time. She had her glasses on and how little she was. That's the only way I could recognize her," he said.

He described the man Moore was with as a husky and "not from around here."

"I kinda got a strange feeling because I was kinda scared to say something to him. But I went on and spoke to him anyway," he said. "She kinda looked at me then held her head down."

Investigators confirmed that they did talk to the possible witness, but said the lead has gone cold.

I do wonder if this man could identify TW as being the man in the car??? not much was said about this , forgive me if I missed something:)

The man charged with sexually assaulting Alicia last summer was found incompetent to stand trial yesterday (3/18/13). At the time Alicia was killed, Ramsire was in jail.

"During a hearing Thursday in the 354th District Court, Judge Richard A. Beacom issued an agreed judgment as to Ramsire’s incompetency and ordered him committed to a mental health facility, “for future examination and treatment toward specific objective of the Defendant attaining competency to stand trial.”"

I haven't seen any updates on the other man they arrested while investigating Alicia's homicide. I think he is still in jail though.
ETA: Nope! It looks like Tobias Whetstone has bonded out and is out of custody as of 3/5/13.

:candle: Still searching for justice.

In the next couple of weeks, that is all about to change,” said Jessica Nicole Byrd, Moore’s aunt. “It has been five months. We still don’t know anything. We still can’t get the autopsy report.”

Byrd did not specify what action the family was planning on taking, indicating they were waiting to see if anything significant transpires during the month of April concerning the case.

Family members and friends of Alicia Moore intend to gather in Greenville this evening, for an event marking the six month anniversary of the local teenager’s disappearance and unsolved murder.

A candlelight vigil and balloon release are scheduled for 7 p.m. at the intersection of Bourland and Walnut Streets in Greenville. Special guest for the event will be Rev. Henry Batson of Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas.

Woke up to great news!! An ARREST has been made!!! Wooohoooo!! It was her uncle. I've got to say I'm surprised it took so long and it's a family member. I'm not complaining though, so glad Alicia is getting justice.

An arrest has been made. One station is reporting it was her uncle, one says that information has not been released.

I guess if true about uncle, I have my definite answer from LE as to why the family was not talked to more about the case.

Oh please! Let there finally be justice for this precious girl! :candle:

This poos little girl has tugged at my heart since this happened. Knew it had to be someone she knew. Hoping for justice today.
