TX TX - Austin, UnkFem 40-55, UP72619, surg clips in breast, clothes/shoes, Apr'20

  • #21
Well, men's shoes are generally wider than women's shoes, sometimes I can find a men's shoe that works great.

I used to be a 10 Wide, but with similarly aging feet -- like some mobile homes I'm a Double Wide! (Zappo's, I thank God for Zappos!)

Often, shoe size is related to height. I was 5'9", probably 5'8" now, if this lady was 5'2" as described I still think a 9 or 9 1/2 would be long on her feet.

Often, people experiencing homelessness or extreme poverty wear ill-fitting shoes.

Re: surgical clips. You can learn something new every day, just log into Websleuths! I thought of the clips holding my skin together after a C-section, pretty grim. I hope these marking clips help identify her, bring her home!

Yes, she certainly could be homeless or taking what she could get at goodwill-type stores. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, just adding another possible thing to look for.

Hi y'all, sorry, just noticed this post has gotten a lot of great comments!

The pathologist who did the examination specifically mentioned clips in the breast but not what they were for. There were no viable fingerprints.

Linda Wheeler would be a good candidate if she were closer to Austin. Nacogdoches is a bit of a hike, especially if you're homeless. Austin does see a lot of homeless people from all over of course, but to come here from a fairly rural area seems unlikely to me.

Thank you all for thinking of this woman - I would love to see her identified very soon!

Are you related to the case in some way? Having spent a great deal of time in Texas, Nacogdoches-Austin doesn't seem far at all. I also work with the unhoused in my city and many are often on the move.

The DDP has announced that they are working on her case now. In the early stage of research - at lab for extraction now

Awesome that the DDP are working on her!

RE: shoe size. Whilst shoe size can be linked with how tall someone is, it's definitely not a certainty. My sister is 5'4 and she's a size 11 (US sizes). She's very thin, too. I'm 5'7 and a US size 10. My friend's brother is 5'10 and a UK size 4, which I'm not getting a clear US conversion for - one chart says that's also men's size 4 in the US, another says that would be a women's size 6 in the US. I never knew shoe size conversions were so difficult. But yeah, he's got super tiny feet. He has to wear a lot of kids shoes and women's boots.

Definitely possible that she was homeless and had poorly fitting shoes. But US size 9 feet aren't really that big. I know lots of people (even shorter people) with feet that size.

In the US, a men's 5 & a women's 6 are generally the same.

I like the European sizing, my cross-country ski boots are 41 1/2.

@LastResponder , can you post a link to an LE report or main stream media report about Linda Wheeler? Do we have a thread for her here at Websleuths?

Prayers for you and family. Has it been verified yet that it is your Mom?
Yes she's been identified through her dental records and facial recognition that linked investgor to my uncle her brother.

She said she considers local cases especially dear. She is the team lead on two Travis County cases: Slaughter Creek Jane Doe, whose body was found in a wooded area behind an apartment complex on April 12, 2020
That’s interesting, Slaughter Creek Jane Doe’s Namus was removed in January this year, I hope there will be an announcement soon.
