SAN ANTONIO — A billboard is giving the family of a missing woman renewed hope and motivation.

This May marks eight years since Bianca Carrasco disappeared, after her family says she had an argument with her husband.

For the next month, drivers on I-10 near Wurzbach might notice a new billboard featuring her missing person's case.

*****
The billboard was paid for by the nonprofit Season of Justice, which was founded in 2020 with the sole purpose of financially supporting cold case investigations, through DNA testing or with awareness campaigns.

Here is what I have in notes for her case...

TX - Bianca "Zannette" Carrasco, 29 disappeared after leaving her home carrying her Prada black purse & pink wallet in the 16000 block of Walnut Creek Drive to go for a walk in San Antonio, Texas on May 1, 2016; was last seen by her husband, who reported they had an argument & said she left the home on foot. She left behind her children, vehicle & personal belongings & her disappearance remains unsolved. Reported missing May 2, 2016 after not showing up for her work as an oncology nurse. (Husband JoeDaniel Carrasco). Bexar County
5/17/16 Update: Investigators with the San Antonio Police Dept. have not ruled out foul play in the disappearance of Bianca who has not been seen in more than two weeks. A missing person report filed with the Dept. two days after her disappearance said that Carrasco had recently been involved in an argument over marital issues with her husband, who may have removed money from her bank account & took her phone prior to her disappearance. According to the police report, her husband told investigators they had been having martial problems in the week prior to her disappearance. In the report, he told police that Bianca told him she was having an affair & gave back the wedding ring (alledgely).
5/21/16 Update: Search conducted. Cell phone ping of last location is in her neighborhood that is why Equuasearch searched that area w drones & dogs but they picked up nothing. Search on foot by volunteers was done in the wooded area close to her residence but it was posted on help find BC fb page that nothing was found.
5/22/16 Update: See post #117 here for new info on case:

6/4/2016 Update: The San Antonio Police Dept. is asking for help in locating Bianca they believe may be in trouble. Police have questioned Carrasco's husband & have not ruled him out as a suspect, police said. Now the husband says a friend picked her up at 4am in the 16000 block of Walnut Creek drive.
6/12/16 Update: Another search planned in the area of Bianca's neighborhood on Sunday.
9/30/23 Update: After 7 years, there is now new hope as Burney says the Texas Rangers are now involved in the investigation. The family is also getting help from Odessa Crime Stoppers, where Bianca grew up. They will be putting up billboards from San Antonio to Odessa.

Thanks a bunch! :)

Texas mom Bianca Carrasco vanished in 2016 after telling her coworkers she'd been having an affair.“She was sharing a lot with her coworkers about what was going on,” Carrasco’s sister, Jovanna Burney, said. “They actually knew a lot more than I did.”Carrasco’s coworkers said she had even joked about disappearing as she left work the Friday before vanishing. "(She said), ‘Well, if I go missing, you know what happened to me,'” Burney said.
