I'm a free thinker and salt hero. A real man-o-war's man. I call 'em like I see um. There is a gross negligence involved, granted, and her LE career is over. But this thread has turned into an emotional barbecue, many posters here cannot post without heat

Sorry, but we're looking for the facts only. So far, we're seeing changing stories, lies , contradictory statements and very little truth or evidence. We're patient. We'll wait until all the evidence is revealed and we will demand that it be revealed. Until then, we're going to pick apart and analyze every bit of information that LE and the murderer reveals. We're going to find out all we can on our own about the crime while we wait. Many of us have some practice in analyzing cases and statements from witnesses and criminals.

That is inappropriate and you have no basis for saying this. This family has yet to bury their loved one. They are fighting for justice in his murder. To even imply this is grotesque.

And it is wrong to derail conversations and discussions of justice for this victim to imply that his family is money hungry.

Thank you for saying this. I hardly have the energy for the provocative, combative conversations that people are trying to foist in this forum.

IF HE MET HER AT THE DOOR and shot him, like she told the detective on the scene happened, his mortally wounded body may have propped the door open OR her vest, backpack and 10 grams of weed may have?

THIS has been my question too. We've seen the door slams. Was it propped open while she was pacing? When the police got there I'm assuming it was open somehow because we've learned he was farther into the apt. And if it was propped open then she knew the door closed on it's own. If it was closed then who had a key to open it? So many little details I want answers to.

Yeah but giving one accounting of what happened to Detective Arredondo on the scene and a different one to the Rangers after she had time to "sleep on it" and consult who knows..... that changes everything as far as who has to prove what

PENAL CODE CHAPTER 2. BURDEN OF PROOF

An "Affirmative Defense", the State must prove facts, "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt". Am I reading that correctly?

According to all that's been reported, she didn't actually enter the apt until after she shot him. She shot a silhouette from the doorway that was a man in his home.

If this was the case, who opened the door for Amber? It’s been proven that those doors don’t just stand ajar. I believe Mr. Jean opened the door and she shot him right there!!!

Right? It is more important we know they found weed in his apartment?! Why is this even leaking? Cui bono?

By all accounts, LE is handling this case as if Bo was the perpetrator. At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if DPD planted the weed to make the actual victim look like your average drug dealer. I just can’t.

I would be willing to bet the marijuana found in Mr. Jean’s apartment wasn’t there at the time of his death. I’m sure blood was drawn at autopsy and will have results in the near future.

That was in the first statement.

Proves that when people lie, they can’t keep their stories straight. It really is a lot easier to tell the truth.

I think you're probably right!!

The silhouette story is just that---a story.

Why won't they say where in the apt the body was found? That would clear up a lot of this.

I believe that he saw her in his doorway and was backing away from her when she shot him. He would have been terrified as anyone would be.
She has a pinched mean looking face IMO.

And when you shoot someone, I don't recall the pistol size in any of the articles...more "transparency", of course. The force of the blast/impact two, shots, center mass, of course he would stagger back, thus agreeing with the findings that he was further away.
Then at the door. And who knows, the Killer could have easily staged the scene.
Seriously, how stupid do they think folks are?!

(Snipped by me)
I agree, this is the only scenario that makes sense of what she has said and what witnesses have reported. Id like to know if the witnesses heard her tell Mr Jean to step out of the apartment, and he "disobeyed command" and stepped backwards instead. People who are completely blindsided by an event (such as a totally innocent person opening the door to their own place of residence ) may not act the same on instinct as someone who thinks arrest/confrontation is a possibility in that moment. We need to know exactly what the witnesses heard and *please oh please* his surveillance cameras were running.

She said she saw the silhouette across the room.
If he WAS shot across the room, he wouldn't have staggered toward the door where the person who shot him was---so that's out.
So if he was found in the doorway, they better come up with a new lie because it's not looking good for her.

Justine Damond was able to stagger a few steps after she was shot and able to speak briefly while she was still standing.
