The only way this case will be solved is to find Brandon's body. Then I don't think it will solve the case. Someone was chasing him, caught him and killed him...JMO
He was not hallucinating....he would have been found. There are houses and people everywhere around there. It's not the desert! It's a major highway.

Who is the friend talking here? Does anyone know? Did I miss it at the beginning?

the vehicle behind brandons on google maps in his driveway in 2013 looks like a toyota corolla fielder.
maybe he was saying what vehicle he was in before talking about his truck being out of gas.

One problem is BL went missing in an area with a very small sheriff's office.....no one or $$ to really work the case. Yet he lived in San Angelo but they did not have jurisdiction to work the case. By the time Texas Rangers were involved it seems like it was too late.

it seems like the truck was deliberately driven to a different county. imo.

I didn't mean share rumors and gossip. I meant the police could probably piece together what happened pretty quickly if they did.

They could talk with their informants and find out what they've heard. We have a missing person in our town whose mother found out he was missing because his friends were typing R.I.P Chris Gregory on social media.

She questioned his friends. Everyone heard that he was murdered the night before. But they'd all heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend. The rumors all have different exact details. But they all say the same people did it.

Anything outside of what the police have released is rumor and speculation. I get what you mean with this site isn't for gossip. But if he were my relative i'd hope someone shared something they knew labeled as gossip. People will use fake names and share details sometimes.

I'm sure some people go through Abilene to go from San Angelo to DFW, but it's not the usual way. The typical way to go is on 67 through Ballinger up to Coleman, then turn north to the interstate at Cisco. SA to Cisco takes 30 minutes longer to get to the interstate than to Abilene but overall trip to DFW is quicker, and starting on 67 when leaving SA is an easier drive than 277 from SA- Split four lane highway from SA to Ballinger vs. two lane highway from SA to Bronte.

Going through Bronte is the more desolate "back way" of traveling from San Angelo to Abilene. So even if one is going to Abilene there's an easier way. There are two ways of equal distance (277 or 67) but 67 is the easiest and safest way to go to Abilene at night, better highway as mentioned plus 277 gets hilly with a lot of curves (with decreased speed limit through the curves) as you enter the "Big Country" past Bronte, plus more deer.
so was 277 the best way from san angelo to crowley?

Just as some people want to insist it is a tripping drug addict.
This is why I love this website. It allows everyone to share their opinions so others may or may not see a different perspective. I have followed many cases on Websleuths and I come into it having one opinion. When I read some other peoples post, I learn things I never would have even thought about. That is what makes this website different than most. Rumors are not allowed, but theories and opinions are allowed.

If you go back to the very early threads talking about the background sounds, one person who is an audio specialist described the sounds at the end. He stated it has something to do with the recording device. I am of the opinion the sounds at the end are just artifacts from the recording. I have listened intently to this recording hundreds of times and I never hear anything about a trooper nor do I hear gunshots. Doesn't mean it isn't there, I just don't hear it!

If I remember correctly, Ladessa was given a recording of the 911 call. I don't think she secretly recorded it, but I do think she released her copy with or without LE permission. Being from Texas and also the area he went missing, I feel like I understand most of his word well. There are a few I miss because they are inaudible. Was he using again? Yes according to his brother. Was he tripping? We may never know. Was there a third party? I am pretty sure I hear it, but someone else may not. Doesn't mean I am right, nor does it mean I am wrong. We may never know in Brandon's case.

I do think some day his body will be found far from the area he went missing....

they sent ladessa a CD in the mail of the 911 call and she burned CD’s of it and said she was sending copies to all the media in a post on hfbl.

at the end i hear either a turn signal or emergency blinker. i will try to isolate the sound and post it.

Something that sticks out for me is Brandon called 911 saying he “needed the cops”. Then later he’s on the phone with his brother while at the truck with the police. He tells Kyle he can see him. At that point he was probably away from the road and not able to find his way back across the terrain. I don’t remember hearing if there was a moon out or not. So Brandon wasn’t trying to hide from LE and if someone was chasing him, them and their vehicle were long gone. In his first or second call to Kyle he told him he was 10 minutes down the road. Wherever he is, obviously deceased, it has to be within visual distance. I couldn’t see him walking in any direction other than towards the headlights, or at least attempting to. The only thing for him to do would be to sit or lay down due to injury. It’s unconscionable this man has been found yet.

Moongiant - Moon Phase Calendar
The moon was in the last night of a new moon to the first moon. So there was some light but prob not much. All the mesquites and bushes could be very disorienting very quickly. Since we don't know his true state of mind we can't know how he'd handle the terrain. My thought is he didn't call the cops because he was broke down, but because he was threatened or saw something, then to hide from them AND his brother, just doesn't jive. Brandon would have laid low until LE left and Kyle picked him up. We can't know what happened from the time Brandon called Kyle to bring fuel to Brandon calling LE. JMO

I just checked and the moonset was at 9:23, so by then it would have been really dark.

Another thing, Brandon said he was “in a field”. There is a field about 1/2 mile (10 minutes walking distance) north of where the truck was. The terrain around the truck is a bit more rough as opposed to flat field area.

In honor of Brandon's 35th birthday today, I wanted to share this visualized timeline of his case. Missing: Brandon Lawson
Looking at this timeline, had there been any explanation for how LL missed 3 phone calls from BL between 12:34 and 12:38, answers a call from KL at 12:40, and misses 2 more calls from BL between 12:50 and 12:54? If her phone was charging in her vehicle when BL'S calls came through, wouldn't it also have been charging when KL's call came through?

She calls him at 12 and asks him to come home or go to KL's out of concern, it doesn't make sense that she would check her phone conveniently at the time KL called and ignore the 3 missed calls from BL in such a short time span. If my husband called 3 times in 4 minutes, I would assume he needed something and call back, especially if I was already concerned.

What's even more bizarre is that she asks him to come home or go to his brothers, misses 3 calls from him, answers his brother's, finds out he's allegedly stranded without gas, and doesn't call HIM to check in. I understand there had been some argument, but she supposedly didn't want him driving to his father's in the middle of the night, I assume, because something could happen. Yet it did, and she didn't check in? Not immediately after talking to his brother and realizing she had missed calls and not 20-30 minutes later to make sure he was back on the road and okay?

Actually, when was the next time she spoke to KL or his girlfriend/wife or they spoke to her? Was there any contact, at all, with her after 12:40 about the gas can?

No Keyedin, she took her phone out to the car to charge and missed his calls.

No Keyedin, she took her phone out to the car to charge and missed his calls.
But she answered a call from KL about the gas can during the time her phone was supposedly in her car charging. According to the timeline her phone is in the car charging, she misses three calls from BL between 12:34 and 12:38.

After that, while her phone should still be in the car charging, she answers a call from KL in which he relays BL is out of gas and he's (KL) coming to borrow their gas can. She said she'll leave it on the porch because she's going to shower or had just gotten out of the shower, maybe, and go to bed.

Does she randomly check the phone at some point? Did she ignore the 3 earlier calls and put the phone on charge after KL called?

And missing his calls and knowing KL is coming for the gas can because he's broke down out of gas, she showers and goes to bed.....mmmmm. I did think she had a sick child, but I can't recall exactly now.
