Ah - I see he has a new case # for the 144th district. I'll be back in about a week - so see if there has been any updates for a court hearing. If you don't mind... :)
 
Cecilia Gallegos was seen arriving home from work on July 7 at 7:39 p.m. She last appears as she enters the bedroom she shares with Reyes Gallegos at 7:53 p.m.

The recordings also indicate Gallegos left the home for three short periods of time. then left the home at 6:30 a.m. on July 8 and did not return until 8:50 a.m., the affidavit states.

The video also captured Gallegos unloading a chainsaw, two shovels and heavy duty trash bags in front of their home that day. The video cameras were shut off around 2 a.m., and remained off for two hours, according to the affidavit.
S.A. man charged in wife’s death 3 years after she disappeared

The murder charge against Gallegos was among 265 felony indictments handed down by two Bexar County grand juries this week!

I get the feeling a body will not be required in this case. For whatever reason, this case grabbed me and I'm glad after the amount of time that elapsed that they were able to charge

What's with Texas giving bail to murder charges??!! This is the 3rd case where Texas has lowered the bail/bond - and they are out!!
2 in fact are on the run!!

edited to add - I have him on 1/28/22 for a hearing.
 
Friday, January 28th:
*Awaiting Trial Hearing (@ am CT) – TX – Cecilia Huerta Gallegos (30) (missing July 7, 2019, reported missing July 8, 2019 by husband, San Antonio, not found) - *Reyes Huerta Gallegos (36/now 37) arrest & charged (8/24/21) & indicted (11/16/21) & arraigned (11/19/21) with murder (by manner & means unknown to the grand jury). $250K bond lowered (1/14/22) to $200K.
Previous charges: 1/13/20: Assault with bodily injury was dismissed as a material witness was missing. Plead guilty to filing a false police report & was sentenced to 6 months on the false report, but it only shows a credit for time served of 132 days - just over 4 months.
8/24/21 Update: Reyes Gallegos was arrested without incident during a traffic stop on the city’s West Side, Officer Alisia Pruneda on Tuesday. Gallegos repeatedly told reporters that he was innocent & that his children “know what the truth is” as he was transported from Public Safety Headquarters to the Magistrate’s Office, where he will be formally charged with murder. 8/24/21: Warrant issued. Bond set at $250K. Pretrial hearing on 9/22/21.
9/22/21 Update: Next Discovery (prose) hearing on 10/7/21. Reduction of bond (prose) & Discovery (prose). 10/25/21: Letter received from defense prose. 11/16/21 Update: Bexar County grand jury indicted Gallegos for the death of Cecilia. 11/22/21: DC file forward to District 144. 11/19/21 Update: Arraignment hearing set. Next awaiting trial hearing on 1/28/22.
1/14/22 Update: Criminal magistrate Judge Andrew Carruthers on Friday lowered Gallegos’ bail from $250K to $200K. If he posts bail, he must wear a GPS device & will be under house arrest & is not allowed to possess a firearm & must undergo drug & alcohol testing. As of 1/14/22 he is still in jail.
