Report No: 90635142
Victim: Celestine Broadus, 27 year old black female
Location: 2100 Redbud Trail
On November 25, 1990, Celestine Rogers was found deceased at a park at 2100 Redbud Trail. She died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Celestine's sister, Phyllis Broadus, was shot after being ordered to get into a man's car and refusing. She succumbed to her injuries days later on March 7th 1986, along with her unborn twins, leaving behind her two other children.
Celestine ultimately left her job to pursue her sister's killer and became a murder victim herself in 1990. Her "partially nude body was found in Cobb Park. She had apparently been beaten on the head with a blunt object, then dumped in the park."
**THIS IS FROM A 2005 ARTICLE PUBLISHED ~5 MONTHS AFTER HER MURDER. I DON'T SEE ANY OTHER ARTICLES DEDICATED TO HER MURDER. I FIND IT SO ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO NEWS STORY ON THIS UPON DISCOVERY CONSIDERING HER SISTER HAD BEEN MURDERED A FEW YEARS PRIOR. WHAT ELSE WAS GOING ON DURING THIS TIME TO SOAK UP THAT NEWS ATTENTION? AM I NOT LOOKING IN THE RIGHT PLACE?
"An anonymous caller reported finding a body lying by some old tires"
Police "believe the slaying probably occurred elsewhere and the body was dumped at the location."
