''FORT WORTH, Texas - Lawyers for the affluenza teen Ethan Couch are asking that he be released from the Tarrant County jail.

Couch’s attorneys claim his case belongs in the civil court and not the adult criminal court. They’ve filed a motion to have him released'''

Of course they do. They are his lawyers. They are paid to not care about anything besides their client's wants.

Grrrrrr.

Let's hope the judge feels differently!!!!

I guess his attys feel like they may as well ask -- ya never know. I'm betting "Denied."

Ethan Couch and his lawyers having been trying to get EC released from jail as stated in above comments by other WS.

Here is the link to the latest....and he was DENIED!

EC and lawyers tried to get the District Judge Wayne Salvant removed and then by that happening EC could have been released from jail. The Judge reviewing the information said nothing was done wrong and Judge Savant will remain on the case. EC will have to continue serving the remainder of his sentence. So happy for some justice.

I can’t find anything on the mother or fathers court proceedings.

Why do criminals always get special privelges, motions, etc and the victims do not? Just saying.

TCs next probation hearing on Jan. 9.
Today was a status check to determine if there were any issues with her remaining free on bond. [emoji53]

Wondering why her court date is taking so long...unless there is a back log of cases to be heard or is it defense delays? Has she had a mental evaluation....that seems to be the way defense seem to go...claim mental illness, uaually at th elast minute. Maybe mental evaluations should be mandatory to prevent last minute delays!?

Fred Couch, goes to trial

http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/fort-worth/article120498498.html

The father of “affluenza teen” Ethan Couch went to trial Monday, accused of impersonating a police officer in North Richland Hills two years ago.

Fred Couch, 51, faces a Class B misdemeanor in the case, punishable by up to 180 days in the county jail and/or a $2,000 fine. A six-person jury was selected Monday afternoon, and testimony was expected to begin Tuesday morning.

Couch — whose son, Ethan Couch, killed four people in a drunken driving crash in southern Tarrant County in 2013 — was arrested in August 2014.

Because he thinks he's above the law??? Or maybe he's just a wannabe. He loves the power.
Somebody stole his sheriff badge as a young child? I was curious if he was doing anything nefarious while in poser cop mode. Allegedly.

Above the law actually works for me (based on the family's MO).

Why was the mom arrested for helping her son escape charges of drinking while on probation?

They should have not charged the mom at all. Jmo.

If anything. Charge the judge that gave this mass murderer the most lenient sentence of all time.

So why blame the mom for helping her son escape; While the judge is off the hook for not originaly sentencing this kid to 40years. Jmo
