Were trying to get that corrected, Owens said. She is not kidnapped.
Hailey was added to the FBIs missing persons website at the instigation of Owens, who was approached a couple of months ago by a citizen involved in the Hailey Dunn search who asked why Hailey wasnt listed on the FBI website.
I didnt know they had a special list, Owens said, who promptly called both the Dallas and national FBI offices. The people I talked to didnt know anything about it either.
...Owens got an email from someone on the Hope for Hailey team about the new wording...
This has got everybody in disarray, he said. As near as we can figure, they went back to the original investigation for their word choice.
Based on evidence from the initial two search warrants filed for a Blackberry and mass media storage and the fact Hailey left without any of her favorite personal items, the FBI had two choices of terminology for Hailey, missing or kidnapped.
Basically, shes disappeared, Owens said. The FBI took it upon themselves to use the word kidnapping. Thats their prerogative, but its caused an overflow of stuff to happen. Were trying to get it corrected. :waitasec:
There was no sign of struggle in Haileys room or in the house and we have no hard evidence one way or the other as to whether she left on her own free will or not.
Theres been a lot of stuff found but nothing has been found to corroborate what has happened to this young girl, Owens said.
