I wonder if she was born Judy Ann Hall and married Russell E Proud in Dallas in 1980? Ancestry has a record of this marriage which shows the bride born 1947 and the groom in 1957. Russell Proud remarried in 1985 so they must have been divorced by then, and her disappearing would have provided reason although I cannot find a record. Mr Proud also married in 1979 (divorced 1980), 1985, 1991 and 2002 - so I am guessing he was difficult to live with, which may give a motive for all possible explanations in this case, including her doing a runner.

I found the records of Russell E. Proud divorcing two women, the wife before Judy, and the wife after her. I wrote about the Janice Kay Baze missing persons case on Newsbreak (link to story) and her husband, Earl Baze, divorced her while she was still missing and married another woman. He also had a history of multiple, short-lived marriages. In any case, it's possible that Russell Proud, if indeed Judy A. Hall is the missing Judy Ann Proud, divorced her while she was still missing to marry his next bride.
