GUILTY TX - Kelli Cox, 20, Denton, 15 July 1997 - *SK William Lewis Reece*

They're "buried treasure" to him, and he'll undoubtedly have relived each attack in detail many times. Brady and Hindley revisited their burial sites and took photos, and in 1987 Hindley was taken to Saddleworth Moor and was able to provide sufficient guidance for the police to recover the body of Pauline Reade, murdered by the couple nearly 25 years earlier. It's just part of the power game.

So not only is he not going to get the death penalty he was essentially allowed to get off on reliving the moment again. Awesome, makes me so sick.

What's the alternative? Relatives wanted to know what happened to the missing women. Without him telling where the body is likely they would never know.

I agree, I am just angry and venting sorry. I live not far from where she disappeared and have followed this case since she was first reported as missing, always checking several times a year. Has always haunted me and broken my heart for her daughter.

Police plan to charge serial killer with death of UNT student missing since 1997
More than a month has passed since authorities discovered the remains of missing University of North Texas student Kelli Cox.

A convicted rapist and kidnapper has confessed to her death, police said, and led authorities to her body.

Yet no charges have been filed.

That’s because officers investigating the cold case hope to speak with the man who killed her one more time before they charge him, Denton police said Thursday

Police plan to talk to admitted murderer William Lewis Reece as early as next week and expect charges to come quickly after that. They hope to address “unanswered” questions in an interview with Reece, who recently began cooperating with authorities and revealed himself as a serial killer.

Crime Watch Daily has a show with Kelli's mom and details of the day she went missing. I feel like the prison set her up to be vulnerable by making her leave keys and cell phones in her car. They could have had her put it in an envelope inside the prison and leave it in a controlled area while she made that tour. Very sad.

Family and Friends Remember Kelli Cox, A Recently Discovered Serial Killer's Victim

http://www.dallasobserver.com/news/family-and-friends-remember-kelli-cox-a-recently-discovered-serial-killers-victim-8622470

It's Saturday afternoon in Farmer's Branch. Inside a two-story house, family, friends and police gather to remember the life of Kelli Cox, murdered by a serial killer in 1997. “We wanted to have something for people to have an opportunity to share memories and ways that Kelli had impacted them,” says her mother, Jan.

More than three months have passed since Kelli’s remains were discovered in an unmarked grave outside of Houston. The crime baffled investigators, some of whom are in attendance. Former Denton County Sheriff Benny Parkey handled the initial investigation when he was a Denton police detective in the early '90s. He died a couple of months ago.

A table set up in the living room displays pictures of Kelli, papers for guests to share memories and a basket filled with yellow-ribbon postcards with an old picture of Kelli, immortalized at 20 years old. She has wavy brown hair, blue eyes that reflect the camera’s flash and a smile on her face. “This yellow ribbon is for Kelli and for all the people who are still missing and have not found their way home,” reads the bold writing underneath her photograph. Her stepfather Niles Bynum points out to guests, repeatedly, that 90,000 people are reported missing every year.

No one really knows how Kelli’s abductor, 56-year-old William Reece, snatched her in the middle of the day near a police department in downtown Denton. Denton police investigator Eric Beckwith was the most recent detective to work her cold case.

Standing in the entryway of the Bynums’ home in Farmer’s Branch, Beckwith tells Kelli’s former boyfriend (once a person of interest in the case) that Reece may have appeared friendly and offered her a ride, which she may have taken since she was rushing to return to take a test at the University of North Texas. It’s still unclear why Reece slipped through investigators’ fingers when they questioned him shortly after Kelli disappeared.

"...Reece had finally started talking, and not just about Laura. He led detectives to the body of Jessica Cain, who disappeared from La Marque the same year as Laura. Reece also helped police find the the body of Kelli Ann Cox, who also disappeared in 1997 from Denton. Just before these revelations, Reece was charged with the murder of a young girl in Oklahoma. Like the others, Tiffany Johnston was also killed in 1997. KPRC's sources said Reece confessed to the murders..."
