The man at the center of a mystery involving a slain baby has learned his fate. Christopher Davila, the boyfriend of 8-month-old King Jay Davila's mother, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Davila will also have to pay a $1,500 fine. He pleaded no contest to the offense of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury or death.

Judge Kevin O'Connell explained that a no contest plea is very much like a guilty plea. The judge accepted his plea and also accepted the evidence presented to the court and found him guilty.

Judge O'Connell said Davila will get credit for all the time he has served. Because Davila entered into a plea bargain, he does not have permission to appeal.

Yaaaay, woohoo! I'm glad he got 40 years, he deserves each and every one of them for killing that poor baby boy.

An application for writ of habeas corpus (WHC or "writ") is a type of legal proceeding which allows an inmate to bring up new evidence to show that he needs a new trial. The evidence must be compelling and serious. Thursday, October 14th:
*Trial Date to be set Hearing for both (@ CT) – TX – King Jay Davila (8 mos.) (reported missing Jan. 4, 2019, San Antonio; found Jan. 10, 2019 in a field wrapped in a blanket inside of a black backpack) – *Angie Torres (45/now 47) (Davila’s cousin) arrested & charged (1/6/19) for aggravated robbery, indicted (1/11/19) & arraigned (4/5/19) with 3rd degree tampering with evidence. Plead not guilty. $300K bond, reduced (6/11/19) to $125K. Charged (1/7/19) with assault-bodily injury.
Trial was set to begin on 5/24/21 continued no further dates.

4/27/21 Update: Motion to dismiss appointed Counsel (Prose). Letter to court re dismissed attorney. Assault case is in limbo, awaiting a docket appearance. Trial continued with no further dates. 6/29/21: Motion to modify condition GPS. 8/20/21: For both cases: application for Writ of Habeas Corpus.
10/7/21 Update: Next awaiting trial, set trial date hearing on 10/14/21 for robbery & tampering charges. For assault charge docket hearing on 10/15/21.
*Beatrice Sampayo Davila (65/now 67) arrested & charged (1/10/19) & arraigned (4/5/19) with 3rd degree tampering with evidence. Plead not guilty. $250K bond reduced (2/8/19) to $50K. Released (2/10/19) with ankle monitor.
Trial was set to begin on 5/24/21 continued no further dates.

*Christopher Sampayo Davila (34/now 37) “father” – Found guilty (6/29/21) & sentenced to 40 years in prison.
