According to the missing persons flyer I saw she was last seen in the parking lot on Hell on Wheels Ave between 16th and 19th St.

I wonder if their are running trails etc near there on base?

'Extensive search' is under way for Fort Hood soldier, 20, who has been missing for five days | Daily Mail Online

SABBM:

Private First Class Vanessa Guillen was last seen on April 22 at 1pm in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment on the Army based in Killeen, Texas.

Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier in the day. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, light purple leggings and black Nike sneakers.

Guillen's sister, Mayra Guillen, wrote on Facebook that the missing woman's phone was last tracked on Belton, Texas, about 20 minutes away from Fort Hood.

She also said that neither Vanessa's boyfriend nor other family members have been in contact with her since last Wednesday.

'Please help me find my girlfriend,' Guillen's boyfriend, Juan Cruz, tweeted on Friday. 'Please anything helps.'

So, given the fact that her barracks room key was back at the armory, would she have entered the armory wearing those clothes, or would she need to be in uniform?

Do people typically bring a change of clothes with them to their assigned work station?

She probably would have come and gone in workout clothes. I wouldn’t be surprised if her uniform was back at the armory.

The Army said Guillen is of Hispanic descent, 5 feet 2 inches, and weighs 126 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She has three tattoos: a cross with a flower and a flower, both on her left arm, and a mountain on her upper left shoulder. She also has a mole on the left side of her chin.

Anyone with information should contact Army CID Special Agents at 254-495-7767 or the Military Police Desk at 254-287-4001.

*Per Article:The soldier’s sister posted that her sister’s phone was last pinged near Belton, about 20 miles east of the Army post. “Something is not right,” she wrote, “please help me find her.”
MISSING: 20-year-old Fort Hood soldier hasn’t been seen since Wednesday

Here is a map of Fort Hood, and Belton, where Vanessa's phone last pinged.

Google Maps

Belton is 21 miles away from one of the gates of Fort Hood, but it is only 6 miles away from the eastern edge of Fort Hood. Considering the fact that we don't know the exact location of the cell tower where Vanessa's phone last pinged,
Vanessa could have been very close to the eastern boundry of Fort Hood.

Here is a cell tower map: looks as though there are not shortage of cell towers in that area wow

With the amount of time that's passed and the fact that family, friends, bf have not heard a single word from her. Especially after it hit the big news which someone who was going AWOL would not have wanted IMO

I'm really wondering if there isn't going to be some kind of foul play in this case.

Missing person

Has no wallet or identification

Left her vehicle on base

Personally I do believe that her phone was likely taken off base

Doesn't have her personal possessions from her barracks(or at least I can only assume that she doesn't, As I think if her barracks had been cleaned out they wouldn't have alerted msm and civil police)

I'm still open to the possibility that she did go AWOL but the more I think about it the less likely I feel it to be.

Kidnapping off a military base, with personal effects left behind in an armory room, strikes me as being extremely odd.

AWOL makes a lot more sense, if you take into account someone wanting to make it look as if they had not left voluntarily.

For some reason, I'm getting Sherri Papini vibes on this case, and I'm not even sure why.
To be clear: I could be entirely wrong, and that was just an initial gut-level reaction.
But my mind immediately went to the Papini case.

My post made no sense lol. it was supposed to be “both odd in broad daylight “

BBM:

Well, to be more exact, her bf claims not to have heard a single word from her.

The fact that he's said it, doesn't necessarily mean it's the truth.

I'm wondering if LE has been able to verify his whereabouts that afternoon.

The other thing I'm wondering about is the possibility of another relationship…we've seen cases like that end badly here before, ala the Erin Corwin case.

In that Corwin case, it was the married Marine she was having an affair with who killed her, reportedly because she told him she was pregnant.

Not saying that's the case here, but if VG is involuntarily missing, some type of fractious relationship issue is one of the more probable scenarios, i.e., it'll be someone she knows vs. a stranger abduction.

Vanessa is getting a lot of military and civilian news coverage.
MOO foul play is my speculation only.
Or accident during her exercise run?
https://taskandpurpose.com/news/fort-hood-vanessa-guillen-missing

Military and civilian police at Fort Hood, including agents from Army Criminal Investigations Command, are conducting an "extensive search" for a young private who hasn't been seen since Wednesday.

Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, 20, was last seen in a black t-shirt at 1 p.m., in the parking lot of the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, according to a Fort Hood press release

I'm going to rule out accident during her exercise run based on where her cell phone last pinged, i.e., 2o miles away in Belton, but that's just me.

Foul play is a distinct possibility.

Alternatively, she could be AWOL.

I haven't seen any red flags anywhere pointing toward self-harm.

Occam says she's either missing d/t foul play or voluntarily AWOL.

Could she have received a call, while at work or on her break, saying ‘Meet me in the parking lot’.

Thanks for finding this map. I knew maps like this existed, and I have seen tower maps before, but I had never looked for one. I counted 10 towers with a Belton address.

I went back to the original quote in the MSM article, and Vanessa's sister said that ". . .her sister’s phone was last pinged near Belton. . ." (BBM) This information could produce quite a large search area, perhaps even including Belton Lake.

There is Starker Functional Fitness Center right by Hell on Wheels Road and 16th. Hell on Wheels Road is right above Ironsides Ave in the attached map. As per google, they are open. Hmm, might be incorrect info though. Would be surprising if they are open... There is also a PX (Aafes) close by...

To know pings so quickly I think VGs sister had a find my phone type app with her sister.

I remember this from a few years ago. People go missing in that vast wilderness that is Fort Hood.

Google Maps[/URL] says this about Fort Hood:

"Founded in 1942, this 340-sq.-mile military base is the largest active duty armored post in the U.S." BBM
340 sq miles is a very large area.
