HOUSTON — Volunteers with Texas EquuSearch were in the Medical Center area Monday to help look for a man who has been missing since Friday.

Ridge Cole, 28, was in Houston for his 13-month-old child's surgery and was staying near the Medical Center, EquuSearch said.

Cole was last seen near Brays Bayou in the 1900 block of Holcombe Boulevard, according to Texas EqquSearch. EqquSearch is asking joggers, cyclists and kayakers in that area to be on the lookout for him.

Cole is 5' 9", weighs about 175 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark gray sweatpants with an MTV logo on the left leg.

If you've see him or have any information about Cole's disappearance, you're asked to call the Houston Police Department at 832-394-1840 or Texas EqquSearch at 281-309-9500.

Wow that doesn't sound good at all! I can't imagine how the poor family can cope with the surgery on the baby and now this missing situation. I feel so badly for them I could just cry. Praying that Ridge is safe and will be located.

I saw the concerning comment @GuyfromCanada, but it seems to be walked back by (assumably) the wife, SC.

Prayers, even though it doesn't sound promising.

Site updates with "body found, identity pending".

Still praying for all!

Omg! This poor family. They were there for their baby to have a liver transplant. My heart is breaking for them.

I don't understand what happened. Maybe you all see something I don't but Brays Bayou does not look difficult to get out of if you fell in.

I hate to say it but it could be self-harm. Being a parent of a vitally sick child must be excruciating and terrifying.
JMO, just an idea, not sure what happened here.

Just like everyone else I'm trying to figure out this part:

"Equusearch found several items that belonged to him along the rain-soaked bank of Bray’s Bayou. His cell phone, his satchel, his cigarettes, and his lighter, and we found a shoe, we found a shoe further down the bank, one shoe," Edwards explains.

Anyone local and familiar with that area? I've read some comments about some homeless encampments close by - makes me wonder if he could have been being robbed and thrown those items while running to get away?

I used to live near a different part of Brays Bayou and would go for walks along it all of the time. I don't remember it ever being very deep, even when we'd had lots of rain.

It’s possible he was inebriated? I have no idea really just an idea. MOO and RIP

This poor family. Having a child in the hospital is extremely difficult. I'm guessing he was just exhausted and an accident occured. JMO.

If you google map his last location, 1900 Holcombe blvd Houston, you see you end up on the "Brays Bayou Greenway Trail" right there where he would have been. The path is next to a steep cement bayou containment slope. He must have fallen down that slope and for some reason never could right himself.

So sad.

[…]

ABC13 confirmed Tuesday afternoon, just before 1 p.m., that a body was found in Brays Bayou near MacGregor Park, where Texas EquuSearch crews have been looking for Ridge Cole.

[…]

While investigators cannot say the body found is Cole, EquuSearch volunteers who found the body said the description matches.

He may have hit his head during the fall and became unconscious. This is such a sad story.
