I’m beginning to think Savanah and her child were the intended targets. I think it goes back to her brothers murder and the attack in the courtroom. There’s probably been other stuff going on that we have no idea about. Her child’s father was maybe the collateral damage? IMO
That's what I have been saying all along.

Savannah's bothers Ethan was killed by a guy (don't want to use his name here) over stealing some vape cartridges laced with TLC from him.

What do you think he is going to do after he was attacked and humiliated by Ethan's family in the court room???

Kill a person who meant the most to them. By killing (having killed) Savannah, he not only killed her but also her unborn child, their grandchild/nephew, ect. What better time to do that than on the eve of her giving birth, if it was planned that way.

Savanah’s death ruled homicide. Guerra’s is still pending.

Soto's cause of death is similar to that of her boyfriend, Guerra, 22, who was identified by the medical examiner on Wednesday. Guerra's manner of death is still pending, according to the medical examiner's office, but Soto's death has been ruled a homicide. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Tuesday when Soto and Guerra were found dead in a vehicle, that the case was possibly a homicide.

I saw a linked article upthread where the family member stated she opened the door, saw Savannah, and didn’t want to see any more.
I read that article as well. Implies car door was unlocked.

Looks like the family was concerned early on, even before the scheduled hospital appt.

Dec. 22: Soto and Guerra were last seen near her apartment in the 6000 block of Grissom Road at around 2 p.m.

Dec. 24: When reached by KSAT on Sunday, Leon Valley police said they received a request for a welfare check from Soto’s family on Friday night.

You’d expect a contact wound with a suicide. I’m still open to us getting bad information, and this being what it looked like early on (murder/suicide). This press conference should clear things up, at least somewhat.

is it possible someone found them and took the gun if it was a murder suicide?

LE opened the doors to tuck those tarps/sheets inside the rear doors to block the view from the public. That was done almost immediately after the vehicle was found. I don't imagine LE would have called in lock smith to come unlock the doors with the bodies inside or had one of their techs working on jimmying the locks.

<modsnip> Savanah was not listed as deceased on the Bexar County Website.

Any thoughts on why they wouldn't list her on there, but it has been announced everywhere where else?

It gave me pause because the sister in law first reported that Savanah was in really bad shape, but then said the family was grieving.
At this point, it's just a legality. Only MG has been positively identified by the ME. The same must be done for SS to appear on the Bexar County website.

No gun (or MG's phone) found in the vehicle.

Sounds as if they were transported to that location, and the unknown as to whether or not his is homicide or suicide remains as he could have killed her, then himself, elsewhere, and the folks they were with paniced and had to move the bodies, because perhaps the shootings took place "too close to home" of the other folks (i.e., not in a wooded area).

Wish we knew if there were bullet holes in the car, because that would open up one possibility that it was murder/suicide that occurred in the final location, and someone checked out the car and decided to steal the gun for their own use, possibly even someone unrelated to either of them. I'm leaning toward the first idea, at least for now.

Edited to add - perhaps his cell phone was stolen out of the car as well.

Police still have not said whether a weapon was found in the car. per this article. Found Deceased - TX - Savanah Soto, 18, Leon Valley, 22 December 2023
seems a lot of different info going around, hopefully the presser helps explain some things.

Who would want to take a gun that had been used to kill two people?? even if was murder-suicide! You don't want to be found with that gun!

It has been reported in many links here that sister-in-law arrived Before police and opened car door. Unlikely she had keys, so implies door was unlocked

Massive risk to take, when it will be obvious from forensics what has occurred...ie if it happened in the car

Unquestionably a straight up homicide investigation:

On 12/26/23, two victims were found deceased in a vehicle at the 5900 block of Danny Kaye. The Medical Examiner’s office identified one of the victims as 22-year old Matthew Guerra. The second victim has yet to be named, but is identied as a full-term pregnant female. Below is video footage taken from a nearby location of where the bodies were found.
In the video, are two persons of interest, one driving a dark colored pickup truck, the other driving the victims’ Silver Kia Optima.
Anyone with any information on this dark colored pickup truck, with a bed cover, or the two persons of interest seen in this video, is encouraged to call SAPD Homicide at (210) 207-7674 or (210) 207-7440. You can remain anonymous when providing any information on this case.
