Other than the fact that Sierra ended up dead, in a closet, and her mom did NOTHING to help her, she was a great mom???
Other than the fact “mom” moved in with a known gang member that she was dating a few months, and exposed her beautiful child to that???
Other than the fact “ mom” allowed him to give her child a bath???

IMHO, a minority of mothers of any age have a baby so that they can have 'someone to love them.' That's how I've heard it put. Once the reality of a new baby/toddler has become clear to them, I don't think they are particularly bonded to the child. The mother then moves back into the 'love at any cost' thinking. And disaster happens for that child.

State District Judge George Powell on Thursday denied a request to reduce Torres' $50,000 bond. DA asked for $100K bond-granted. Houston police have said more charges are possible. Preliminary hearing on 9/9.

Sierra Patino's body was found by her grandmother wrapped in a blanket in a closet at a northwest Houston apartment on Sept. 1. At the time of the discovery, police said it appeared as though Sierra had been dead for several days.

Yes. There are five manners of death (natural, accident, suicide, homicide, and undetermined). Cause of death is the specific injury or disease, for example blunt force trauma, heart disease, gunshot, sharp-force injuries, etc.

And, according to the video below (see 1:09 mark), the ME hasn't determined either cause or manner of death.

"The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences says it is 'unable to determine a cause and manner of death.'"

Also, after the 2-minute mark, the reporter says that Sierra's mom appeared in court requesting funds to help pay for legal experts.
