Ariana Grande has arrived back in the U.S she is receiving backlash on social media for not staying to visit her young victims in hospital. I don't think this criticism is justified at the moment, perhaps a special meet and greet can be arranged at a later date.
Any entertainer in Ariana's shoes would be feeling "grief". As I understand it, through social media her fans connected with her and vice versa. Ariana would know exactly who her fan base is as well as their young ages primarily.
She would be feeling "shock" as well.
As I understand it, Ariana is a human being with emotions and if this felt so overwhelming to many of us who are hundreds if not thousands of miles away, I can be sure she is deeply affected by what happened.
Anyone sending backlash on social media towards Ariana returning home is perhaps devoid of human compassion and empathy. That is the only explanation I can think of.
Grief and survival guilt will drive the need for counselling. I hope and pray that counselling will be made available free of charge to everyone affected by this. This needs to be processed in a safe and caring environment.
That's why I was so glad to see that some schools had already set up counselling and support.
Many times, though, symptoms of PTSD and feelings of survivor guilt can manifest months later.
I pray for all of them to get through this.
