As yet unnamed, he has been reported as bailed along with the Mahers.
The Mahers appeared on the 11th and were rebailed to the 24th January.

Stanstead man was supposed to appear on the 13th... do you have a reference to the report?

Hmm, actually not since Nov 13th, no. It has all been very mysterious about him. The only person arrested and not named.

A little surprised EW did not tweet about this ... seems to have been at the court for most of the action?

Read the previous page. The tweets are there if you're referring to earlier today.

Sorry, lost the context ... I was referring to Stansted man appearing on 13th Nov for his bail hearing ... or not ?

A man has admitted two charges linked to the deaths of 39 people found in a lorry in Grays in October.

Not sure about that!
Dalston / Hackney having a significant Vietnamese population, several Vietnamese run 'modern slavery cannabis farms having been found in the area.... (numerous references on Google, from 2010 onwards).

Some had attempted to link Robinson to the Traveller Community, because his truck stopped near a Travellers Camp. Travellers generally don't live at addresses in Dalston. Where his truck parked was also outside an ASDA depot, and appears to be a road commonly used by drivers to catch some sleep.

Why on earth would you think I was ruling out Asian gangs because on address in London. And its sounds a bit disgraceful for someone to presume that Vietnamese communities are automatically linked to slavery and illegal drugs. Many in the Vietnamese community were the original boat people or descendants of. These boat people represented the intelligentsia of South Vietnam, and the defeated ARVN, as well as those from North Vietnam escaping persecution from the Communists. Many fled to Hong Kong, then a British Crown Colony. Vietnam was so bad, many rather endured decades in cramped camps in Hong Kong than go back. Its the sort of place that routinely fingerprints the entire population, enabling rapid identification of corpses.

The man arrested was described as from Essex, living at a London address. The Vietnamese community are mostly based in the major cities.

Whoah!

Firstly I don’t know what speculation you thought was ruled out by the man having been arrested in an address in Dalston.

Secondly, while I know and agree that the Vietnamese community who arrived a generation ago were and are as you described, you cannot deny that nowadays many Vietnamese migrants are ending up as victims of trafficking and modern slavery. The disturbing news that one of the deceased was an unaccompanied minor who had previously ‘disappeared ‘ from a centre in the Netherlands is potentially sinister since many of the people kept prisoner tending cannabis farms are unaccompanied minors. I have just read a 600 page report on modern slavery and the number of Vietnamese minors caught up in it. 2 of these farms, run by Vietnamese gangs, were busted in Hackney last year (though the highest number in London was in Croydon).

At least 8 people have been arrested in Vietnam at that end of this horrendous illegal trafficking, aided and abetted by these European lorry drivers and whoever is in the middle.
