UK UK - Allan Bryant, 24, Fife, Scotland, 3 Nov 2013

Wasn't the reason they searched Barnton Avenue due to rumours doing the rounds locally that Allan had been murdered by the bloke who was in the press years ago when they were searching their house? That's the impression I got anyway.

I've seen snippets over the years from the find Allan page but a lot seems to get taken down so I can't remember exactly what's been shared. I seem to remember a video of someone talking about what happened to Allan? Again that was taken down.

Not sure how much we can discuss on here, it might be helpful if someone were to start a private conversation group on here where we can discuss the evidence the Allan family has gathered that's not in MSM.

I don't know how to start a private conversation. I have only ventured back to commenting on here recently.
The reason for the search was a bit more explicit than that and the man who's house it was... He's either very stupid or very cocky! I'm not sold on him being innocent but I have no opinion on him being guilty either.
Hopefully, if this is Allan, the family might get their answers!

Dads just put an update thats theres no news on the remains, things will take a day or 2 longer at least. What an unbearable situation as a patent to be left hanging like this. I really hope it is their son and they can put him him to rest.❤️

There are quite a few units for sale. I wonder if it was a potential property buyer viewing the units who found something.

Maybe I got it wrong, I am sure that was what I read but can't find it now, this is a good reference as to why it's so important to link reliable sources , learned a lesson.
I was questioning the article not you. The link you gave quotes Allans dad saying the body was found in a single story building.

I keep checking the news to see if there is an update. Maybe tomorrow. This must be torture for his family.

Not Alĺan's remains after all. Remains are definitely male, but are not those of any other local males who the police know are missing.

Heart breaking. The pain goes on for Allan Sr to find his son. Interesting comments about how bad these units were where the body was found and travelling people have been there so the body could be one of them.

Be interesting to know how long they think the remains may have been there for, and why they have been detected at this particular time? I think certain units having been put up for sale in August could have meant they were discovered, otherwise who knows how long they would have remained there, undiscovered?

Sad whoever it is of course but I was so hoping it was Allan so the Bryant family would finally get closure.

We are appealing for the help of the public to identify human remains found on an industrial estate in Glenrothes.

The remains were found on Sunday, 27 September, 2020, on the estate in Whitehill Road in the town and extensive enquiries have so far failed to identify who he is.

Work carried out, including forensic and scientific examinations by specialist teams, confirms that the remains are that of a man aged at least 35, potentially older, of slight build and around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall. He had lost a number of teeth during his life.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Houliston, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team (East), said: The death of this man remains unexplained and our enquiries are continuing to find out who he is and how he came to be on the estate.

“There are a number of features that may help us to identify him. He had a surgical plate attached to his ankle and we believe this was fixed to his left ankle during surgery sometime between late 1998 and early 1999. Enquiries thus far have revealed that it is likely he died at least two years ago.

"Officers are in the process of checking all missing persons records in the UK, but he may not have been reported missing and I would urge anyone who can help us to identify this man to come forward."

UNIDENTIFIED BODY MYSTERY: DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN?

A facial reconstruction of human remains found on an industrial estate in Fife has been released by police in the hope of identifying the man whose death remains a mystery.

The remains were found in September at a unit on the estate in Whitehill Road, Glenrothes.

Extensve enquiries have so far failed to find out who he is or what happened to him.

Forensic work has indicated that he was aged at least 35, and probably significantly older, was of slight build and around 5ft 8ins. He had lost a number of teeth and had a surgical plate fixed to his left ankle sometime between late 1998 and early 1999.

It has been established that plates bearing this batch number were acquired in the UK by hospitals in Fife, Sheffield and Ashford, Kent in December 1998 and the plate may have been fitted during surgery carried out at a hospital in one of these areas.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Houliston, the senior investigating officer, said: “Missing person reports across the UK have been checked and enquiries made with Health Authorities in relation to the surgical plate without success to this point.

"The work done by Face Lab at Liverpool John Moores University has provided us with a representation of the man’s face based on details from the remains that were found.

“I hope that people will take a look and see if they recognise this man whose remains have been on the estate for a period of time. We want to be able to reunite him with his family and also find out what happened to him."

The dad of a Scots man who has been missing for more than seven years has been handed a temporary social media ban after a row with an online troll.

Allan Bryant has a high profile on Facebook and posts about the ongoing search for his son, who is also called Allan.

But when someone seemingly made fun of the disappearance on the For Sale Scotland Facebook page, which Allan Senior is a moderator on, he lost his rag and allegedly used offensive language.

Posting on Facebook, Allan's partner Marie Degan vowed the 'sick trolls' would never win claiming the person had been laughing about the disappearance and called to abuse the family more.

She wrote: "My partner Allan will never let these sick trolls win, he ignores things the majority of the time (but) sadly sometimes it gets top much for him.
