Claudia Lawrence investigation
http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/13147

It is now six years since Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in York. Despite the intensive efforts of the police, the resolve of her heart-broken family and saturated media coverage, her sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

North Yorkshire Police's commitment and determination to solve the case and bring closure for Claudia's loved-ones, is undiminished by the passage of time.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, head of the force's enhanced Major Crime Unit, is leading a comprehensive review of the original investigation.

This has been supported by national experts from other forces and agencies, including forensic specialists who recently completed a re-examination of Claudia's home on Heworth Road in York.

As a result of this work, Det Supt Malyn and his team have identified new lines of enquiry and fresh public appeals to pursue, as well as renewed appeals on previous key items of interest to the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Mason, Head of Crime for North Yorkshire Police, said: "The decision to focus and prioritise the efforts of the enhanced Major Crime Unit on this case and undertake a comprehensive review of the original investigation, is producing progressive results which we expect to continue over time."

What Happened to Claudia Lawrence? • Morbidology

This was written in 2019 :
Yet they still keep saying she went out after she arrived home to post a letter ?
They keep saying her phone was switched off at midnight .
Yet they mention things that were revealed years later !?
In this article it says Claudia was captured on cctv the previous day but what about days earlier still ? Was she walking alone every time ?

Was she captured on the melrosgate Cctv on the morning she was supposed to be with a mystery boyfriend a couple of days before she disappeared ?
And if true the chances are she went home at about 4.30 am .
And this would be by private car or a taxi . Any cctv footage of this ?

there must be more cctv out there that would help us.
I think if the police were banking on insiders coming forward, they've had. a long. wait and could wait much longer...are they waiting for something to come out if a person involved is arrested for something else....they seem to forget. the fear factor, both in and out. of prison

These reportings can be confusing but you could ask Cold Case to confirm which are accurate PJ.

We know she was said to have popped out after being dropped off at home after work on the 18th and a friend reported seeing her returning but I wasnt sure where exactly this siting was on Heworth road.. but interesting I found a piece in the North Yorkshir Enquirer that gave a timeline which included this
Claudia was last sighted at around 3.05pm on Wednesday 18 March at the junction of Heworth Road and East Parade walking back towards her home on Heworth
Road
.
Had she been to East Parade Post Box to post a letter?

The guy in the light jacket was caught on costcutter cctv at the same junction were these people on the junction the same time as her, was she one of the figures that had been blurred out
Theres no date and time stamp on this shot but clearly its daytime

@keep-it-real, post

Those photos were from the Thursday 19th 2009 morning cctv...the man was seen on Heworth Road and picked up again on Costcutter's camera. There's no blurring out - the close up is the same shot as the full length image.
Claudia Lawrence police seek two men seen on CCtv

I know the cctv clip you refer to @Yozzer where the man in light jacket is walking on the far pavement on Heworth rd in the direction of Cost Cutters shop he is reported to be carrying either a bag or newspaper.
But my personal opinion is that the still photo of him was captured at a later time of day.

That's your prerogative but why would police say this?

This article came out on her ten anniversary
They make it out as if David mentioned the mystery boyfriend for the first time but in fact the police revealed the info one year later ( first year anniversary)
Were they told this even earlier but ignored the info simply because her close friends / family did not know about him ?

I have a question re secret v mystery boyfriends .
Was the secret boyfriend from York ?

Im not disputing that he walked past the cctv and was caught on that as the police say .. what Im disputing is that the photo still that they show is from a different time of day..
In my opinion this person was on heworth rd and passed costcutters on more than just this one occassion.

well, you know what Christine Keeler. said....

seriously, I dont whether dr or any other particular. individual had anything to do with it but id guess the 4 poi's know more than they're letting on, although I can understand their. fear if they're innocent

I feel for countless pages now this thread has recycled the same theories just by different members. The fact remains, unless someone comes forward to the authorities this case is stuck and there is nothing practically any of us can do about it sadly to progress it forward...

On channel 5 tomorrow at 11:05pm there is a programme about her called ‘Claudia Lawrence missing or murdered’. Is it a repeat, the title seems familiar but I couldn't find it uploaded to YouTube? They seem to rehash the same stuff on her and broadcast it every couple of months. Some would say it’s keeping the case in the public domain but if no new information is revealed what’s the point?! Everything has gone on-line these days and I consider channel 5 to be one of the weaker terrestrial stations so realistically what will the audience viewing figure be - 1 million?

Yes it was first shown towards the end of 2019. There was a lot of repetition and exploration of the various theories put forward about her demise, so for me, it tried to cover too much in the time available.
The appearance of the work colleague from the Roger Kirk Centre who had divulged the 'all-nighter with the boyfriend' story was probably the most memorable part for me as his testimony was 'interesting' to say the least.

And I can understand their fear and unwillingness to cooperate if they're guilty.
