    Claudia Lawrence investigation
    http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/13147

It is now six years since Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in York. Despite the intensive efforts of the police, the resolve of her heart-broken family and saturated media coverage, her sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

North Yorkshire Police's commitment and determination to solve the case and bring closure for Claudia's loved-ones, is undiminished by the passage of time.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, head of the force's enhanced Major Crime Unit, is leading a comprehensive review of the original investigation.

This has been supported by national experts from other forces and agencies, including forensic specialists who recently completed a re-examination of Claudia's home on Heworth Road in York.

As a result of this work, Det Supt Malyn and his team have identified new lines of enquiry and fresh public appeals to pursue, as well as renewed appeals on previous key items of interest to the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Mason, Head of Crime for North Yorkshire Police, said: "The decision to focus and prioritise the efforts of the enhanced Major Crime Unit on this case and undertake a comprehensive review of the original investigation, is producing progressive results which we expect to continue over time."

A passer-by who was cycling to work recalls seeing a man standing outside Claudia's house between 6.45am and 6.55am on Thursday 19 March 2009.

On 19 March 2009 at 5.42am, CCTV footage shows an old-style light coloured Ford Focus hatchback car - manufactured between 1998 and 2004 - driving along Heworth Road.

The investigation team need to trace the owner of a white Vauxhall Astra van that was parked on the opposite side of the road of Claudia's house, towards the Costcutter shop and the fish and chip shop.

The investigation team are appealing for help to locate a man seen on Heworth Road (with backpack) at about 2.30pm on an unknown day the week Claudia went missing.

The forensic re-examination of Claudia's home supports the favoured theory that she left the house on the morning of Thursday 19 March 2009 without any obvious sign of a disturbance at the property.

Many thanks for the new thread and all the carry over information. Here's hoping that there will be a resolution very soon for Claudia's family and friends.

Bumping for Claudia......I often trawl the media looking for any news or information on Claudia, but there has been nothing for quite a while now, so frustrating, must be gut-wrenching for her family.

It's funny the thread got bumped. I drove past Claudias house yesterday, traffic came to a halt at the junction and we ended up stopped right in front of her front door. I sat and looked at her house, still there empty and waiting for resolution, the same curtains drawn, the same artificial flowers in the window. So sad! :(

Where is Claudia? Will they ever find her? I have to believe they will one day, I just hope it's sooner rather than later, for the sake of her family. The pain must be unbearable.

I think.. It's now put before the CP to decide if there is enough evidence to lay charges. As it is the 4 men have been released from bail uncharged.
